Thunderbird Club

Experimenting with a myriad of tonal possibilities at the electronics is cool. My most sophisticated set-up to date has 2 Peavey buckers with each coil split and switchable for 15 setting options. It was fun working it all out (and believe me, I had help as I'm no electronics whiz) but at the end of the day - I love a simple system.

I had one of the t-40s when they first came out. It was really kind of cool with a lot of options and massive bridge. Kind of ahead of it's time in some ways. Mine was a really pretty tobacco finish. I'd buy another but they weigh a ton. Literally.

Yes. Lacquer clear. It will mostly live in its case, and I do not play a lot of outdoor shows. It may not get into sunlight much at all. The amber will be an adventure. If I knew exactly what it would do, it would spoil some of the value for me.

Ah, time will arise upon you. And you'll know what to do.

Yes - it's their MO. (heavy) I've used those 80's Peavey pu's in a couple of my builds and they sound really good. The Galaxis weighs 7lbs/14oz.

Simply put, if you leave it out (where you will be more apt to grab and play it!) in a room that gets average sunlight - it will slowly amber.

So one of my band mates works for a school system. They were throwing this out. I’m going to try to get it working. Also this crazy CD cassette usb thingie.

I love how the bottom of the bridge perfectly fits in the shape of the body.

Thanks! That was very intentional! :) The tail-piece is from a 60's Japanese short-scale bass. I designed the body so with a Dunlop Strap-Lok strap installed - it stands securely upright against an amp. No need for a separate stand at a gig.

saw Ross Valory play one with Journey back in the 80's and became curious cause nothing offered that quality for that price...tried a friend's for awhile and really liked it....unfortunately my crowd was snotty (bummer) and viewed them as second rate instruments (that satin finish didn't help) which they by no means were...my friend's was finished natural.... seems like loads of country bassists were using them back then...

That's the way to get it out of your system!

OK, the smart-ass in me wants to know if the GK combo works...

But more to the point - what kind of schools are these that there are so many empty beer cans in the background? And who emptied them students or staff? And who drinks Blue? (OK that is driven purely by my beer snobbery)

Hah, good eye. Are you into Collective Arts?
I think we have discussed this before...

Short answer - Yes!

Long Answer - Yes! It is really good beer.

Rhyme and Reason, Ransack the Universe and Saint of Circumstance are go-to beers for me.

I don't limit to one brewery. I am also a fan of (in no particular order) Great Lakes (the one in Toronto, not the one in Cleveland, not that there is anything wrong with the one in Cleveland), Sawdust City, and Double Trouble. I am always open to trying a new beer.

We probably have. My memory is terrible.
