Thunderbird Club

A chrome pickguard is another option I have been toying with.

I have one, if you're serious I *might* consider selling it, but it won't be cheap.

Stop me before I bling again!

I was also thinking about hunting down an early '60s Cadillac badge of some kind to put on it somewhere. Beats me where. Maybe as a decal on a chrome pickguard instead of a Thunderbird logo. But, that would be just wrong somehow. Being wrong never stopped anybody from doing anything.
Well, as long as you are soliciting bad ideas...

I *might* be serious, too. That remains to be determined. I'll have to see what it looks like with a white pickguard first. White on Burgundy Mist may or may not be acceptable. Chrome goes well with everything.

Get a small one made and use it instead of the stock truss rod cover.

That would be badass in place of the T-bird logo and a mint pg would look pretty Deluxe with BMM.

weird...I never have any difficulty dialing in a JBass..
I think I've struggled more with Js tone than anything else. Again, I'm OCD about tone. Js with my rigs either sound honky or hollow. I'm into big thick lows with mid punch (Most of my basses have flats for a reason I guess!). I don't do "burpy," twangy or slappy. Currently I'm happy with the two I have, they sound really good, just not, "Wow! Do you hear this thing?" I'm sure it's just me. My '62 has Fender Pure Nickles and the '71 GHS Precision Flats. I do enjoy playing both. The '62 has a killer neck with amazing pattern ins the grain. You'd pay extra for a neck that looks like that now.

Blow it up to full size and you can see how thrashed the '91 was before refinishing. It will never look like a new instrument, but it sure will look the part on stage. Picture is from a few weeks ago, before clear, sanding, or anything else.

My favorite pic of Burgundy Mist Metallic on a bass - so classic.

I'm more a book person than movie person, so I would have never known what this was about without having seen the Stiller reference in another thread.

I still have no idea.
OTOH, I liked Blue Steels OK for guitar. Have never tried them on bass. Happy enough with the chrome flats that expect to leave them on til they're dead.

One of the great things about BMM is that it changes so much with the light. It can look lavender or brown or purple or pink. It can look light or dark. All colors change some with different lighting, but BMM changes a lot with different lighting.
