None of that stuff will end up in a landfill (unless you take it there and dump it while no one is looking). It will go to the 3rd world where it will be stripped for all the recyclable elements in it (copper, lead, tin, zinc, silicon, germanium, strontium etc.).

:D:thumbsup:;)
My Acoustic Control equipment will be causing chest cavity liquefaction sometime in 2137. That's the goal, anyway.

There's the Bic Lighter aspect of Class D, et al. I don't like the new business model, I want to be able to fix it and have it a long time.
The fact that I have flipped a metric ton of gear in my lifetime has nothing to do with it. I like my Trace and Acoustic heads... and I'll probably never have to send them to the landfill.

Yeah, pre-loved, recycled gear is cool. My Traynor YBA200 was made in 2004 and I neither know nor care how many previous owners it has had. They seemed to be flipped rapidly on the Oz forum, when I still bothered to look at it. I suppose I want different things out of a bass amp as it has now found its forever home. It was good to be able to rescue the Orville and JAEbird and give them playing time. The nickel parts/strings on both were seriously corroded when they found me.

Think I have scored myself a slimmer hardshell cello case for an excellent price -- my singer is going to check it out/nab it for me at the weekend. With any luck, all three basses and the cello will fit in the available space. Think I'll wait until we have some gigs and critical acclaim under our belts before I try to sneak a Casady past The Mod.

My 15 y/o daughter calls people she's never met friends because she plays video games with them and they belong to the same "fighting group" or "clan" and they do "missions". I think it's sad but I guess I just don't understand that part of it. I'm happy that she has balance though and she has real friends as well and outside interests beyond computer games.

Why sad? I would get that if these were her only friends.

My daughter can't conceive of me during the summer leaving home at 9am, being home for dinner and leaving again until the street lights came on. She asks what we did outside all that time (already knowing that there were no cell phones or video games). All I can say is we played, rode bikes, and had fun.

What is more horrifying is that as parents, we live in fear of "the authorities". A complaint from a neighbourhood busybody (or an ex-spouse) to an aggressive child welfare agency can result in losing custody of children and a long court process to attempt to regain access/custody.

Yes. It's absurd and infuriating. There was a time when the authorities had a much more sensible approach. Now many of their approaches are driven by fear and a "guilty until proven innocent (if that's even possible)" attitude.

My younger has most of her friends online too. In fact one of them came to visit a week ago, from Nevada, stayed in a Hotel in Providence, about 20 mins away. We took him for a couple tours of popular localities, incl Narragansett and Warwick Neck/Oakland Beach.

He was a really nice guy. Next visit we'll make sure he doesn't pay for a hotel, we got room here.

good luck, i got a Rumble 100 in for repair. they use these weird "spider" potentiometers and two of them cracked when the amp was dropped (?, has a dent in the front panel) but because i heard they are hard to find (only've seen them on Peaveys) i asked Fender about buying the complete front panel PCB ass'y....their response below;......:rollno:.....looks like i'm gonna have to "wire" a couple of off the shelf pots in...

Ugh. I hate disposables.

... But it is also that when she is ready to do something, she will ask, we will discuss and we will find a way to make it work within boundaries.

This is so key. Parents whose default answer is always "no" are as problematic as those whose default is to always give in.

lol...modern day business model....there's no money in servicing modern stuff...none meant to be...disposability is king....I just do it these kind of jobs for friends...
My PF-50T had an intermittent high pitched whine. I had swapped out all the tubes individually and that didn’t solve it. I took it in under warranty and they sent back a new amp. I’m pretty sure it could have been repaired.
