Thunderbird Club

My favorite late '80s and early '90s Seattle double bill: Cat Butt appearing with Bible Stud.
I was in a "Chicago" style band in 69-70. We'd gotten our 'act' together but didn't have a name yet. The guitarist suggested "Space D**k". After some deliberation we went with "Cherrystone". Sufficient double(triple?)meaning in that.

Actually a scientific theory applying the modus tollens syllogism to the reality proposed by the main empirical enunciations that ensue from its epidemiological designs. This method is frequently deductively refuted because of the non-fulfillment of auxiliary assumptions that would act as reciprocal potential falsifiers in multi studies. Thus taking the logical form of a bi-conditional argument of the type: (a) Heavier vs lighter and (b) fuller vs wimpy sounding. Therefore the lack of weight becomes a set of potential falsifiers of robust sound as part of the explicit falsity content of the bigger is better argument.

Disclaimer: I don't even know what the hell I just said, it's amazing what you can do with the simple cut and paste feature and a bit of creative wordsmithing.:roflmao::roflmao:

That's what I was thinking. Er, sorta.

Input jack on a Fender Rumble. It’s baffling that even Fender doesn’t have it. At least when the warranty runs out.
It’s a bit loose but soldiers on.
good luck, i got a Rumble 100 in for repair. they use these weird "spider" potentiometers and two of them cracked when the amp was dropped (?, has a dent in the front panel) but because i heard they are hard to find (only've seen them on Peaveys) i asked Fender about buying the complete front panel PCB ass'y....their response below;......:rollno:.....looks like i'm gonna have to "wire" a couple of off the shelf pots in...

you got it right though!....;)..

It cuts both ways. When my son was in middle school, my wife picked him up at school. Somehow, they got crosswise, which isn't a surprising thing to have happen with a 7th grader. He was big enough and old enough that he could fend for himself, and she stopped the car. He got out and refused to get back in. I guess he thought she would circle the block and pick him up after he made his point. She didn't. She let him walk home, because she'd had enough and was really irritated. Later on, when the tempers cooled, she was completely mortified about what might happen and what people might say. Word got out, of course, and she became a hero to the other parents. They were delighted to have fairly well behaved kids for a while, since the threats were suddenly a lot more credible.

Nothing bad happened, and the kid made it home an hour or two later. He didn't misbehave very often, anyway, so it's a bit of an anomaly.

I was at a friends cottage for the weekend - a gathering of the school clan. A couple of years ago, I was labelled "the mean Dad" by the son of one of the couples; the parents remarked that my daughter is remarkably polite and well behaved. When their son demands access to a phone to play games, it was begrudgingly granted with limits (which were mostly ignored). When I walked in later and the kids were gathered around a tablet. I simply said that it was nice out and they should go play outside, the tablet was dutifully put away and the kids went to the dock with no complaints. I was asked how I managed such a miraculous feat. My only explanation is that I speak very authoritatively and the kids fear what I might do if they don't comply (will the mean Dad forcefully remove the tablet and throw it in the lake, will he start throwing kids in the lake? Imaginations can run wild).

My daughter is a good kid; very polite and respectful. I think it is because there is no longer a need to test limits. On the one hand, she realized early on that it was a losing battle because I have always stuck to my guns. But it is also that when she is ready to do something, she will ask, we will discuss and we will find a way to make it work within boundaries. I'm not unreasonable, but am stern.

That explains their insistence that it be under warranty.
It’s a G.D. Input jack!!

Won't someone think of poor FMIC here!? Amplifiers do pretty much exactly the same thing as they did 50+ years ago. A serviceable product is one that you will not replace periodically depriving poor FMIC of ongoing revenues. Are you trying to put people out of work?

Well played. I just ambled through it until I got to the "lighter vs heavier" bit...

There's the Bic Lighter aspect of Class D, et al. I don't like the new business model, I want to be able to fix it and have it a long time.
The fact that I have flipped a metric ton of gear in my lifetime has nothing to do with it. I like my Trace and Acoustic heads... and I'll probably never have to send them to the landfill.

None of that stuff will end up in a landfill (unless you take it there and dump it while no one is looking). It will go to the 3rd world where it will be stripped for all the recyclable elements in it (copper, lead, tin, zinc, silicon, germanium, strontium etc.).

:D:thumbsup:;)

Yeah, worse than the landfill.
