Thunderbird Club

OMG It could have been ANYTHING.

We play a Van Halen set, but our guitar player can't play Eruption. So I do it on bass as the opening number that is why...

I'm generally the one in my band who gets most aggro when I play. Judging by the grimace, I was probably doing my best impression of Bon Scott, singing Highway to Hell.

Michael Anthony upon learning that he was paid half of what everyone else in the band gets.

We've made some major song changes since then, but that one has become a staple in our show.
Fixed that for you

Thunderbird Thursday!

Thunderbird is an interesting bit of American iconography. Based on native American mythology of some kind of giant bird of prey.

Not only basses but also:
Ford Thunderbird - car
USAF Thunderbirds - aerial display squadron
Mozilla Thunderbird - software
Thunderbird School of Management - Academic
Fabulous Thunderbirds - Music

I'm sure I am missing many.
so you do have a reason to be in this club!...:roflmao::roflmao:;)

Ahhh, home is open again!

I'm still debating what to do with strings on the PinkBird. I just flat didn't like Bass Burners. It's blasphemy around here, I know, but Black Beauties on the '01 sounded so much better than Burners on the '91. It may have been the pickups. The '01 is stock and magical. The '91 has Chinabuckers and is close to magic with the right strings. It's not magic with Bass Burners. At least not through the Grexa reissue 360. That may also enter into it.

Decisions, decisions. The tapes are still floating around. I liked them on the '91, but haven't heard them through the big amps yet. Then there's a set of Silver Stars, that are more or less Black Beauties, and I haven't tried them on anything yet. And then there's maybe putting Cobalt Flats on it to see how that works. N+1 is looking pretty good right now.

Hummm, so I guess the moral of the story is that T-bird peeps are more tolerant of diversion... kind of a R&R given isn't it? Oh well...

Reopened after more clean up. Again, please stick to the basses. I haven't given out any points, but fair warning - complaining about moderation isn't going to go well. This is the Basses forum, not the pinup girls or alcohol or whatever forum. If you want to start an "Off-Topic Thunderbird Club" or whatever in Off-Topic, feel free. Or post in a relevant existing thread. This thread isn't moving.
