I did something interesting tonight:

Me and a couple of friends took a 5 ½ hour drive from Copenhagen to Hamburg to see Billy Idol live!!!

That was a seriously cool and fun show! Billy & Steve Stevens are true performers!

Call me jealous! I really like both of those guys! Steve Stevens is one of my fave guitarists! I recall Mike Lull telling me how Steve ruled over Billy back in the day, even telling the bass player to put away his Jazz and play a P with a pick or get out.


I did get to play that purple Bird, the D'Addario's are pretty nice, certainly different from my usual DR's or Ken Smith's.

That wouldn't have surprised me...

Though, the current bass player played a lefty Warwick Streamer for the whole show... As good as it may be - what an ugly bass that is IMO...

Over our time as a band we've done five of those songs listed, currently White Wedding and Rebel Yell - I think we're going to sub Dancin' with myself back in soon:)

Absolutely a great show! The band was in high spirits and Billy was interacting with the audience and the band members all the time, and occassionally signing records handed to him from the audience during the performance. You wouldn't believe he's 58 with all that energy and physiche... :)

Dancing with Myself, White Wedding and Rebel Yell are such great songs - We too are considering adding one of them to our setlist... :)

That last shot.....What song are they playing? Do you recall? I didn't think SS would share the stage with any other guitarist, let alone Billy!

That shot was taken during LA Woman...

The 2nd guitarist was present under the entire performace. Billy played a little bit of guitar on LA Woman and Sweet Sixteen, which had all three of them playing acoustic guitars. And on all four Gen X songs the keyboard player switched to playing guitar as well...
