How rare are these, Mark? Kind of looks like a Studio 4 but it isn't I don't think. The listing says 22 frets but there's only 20 of course. oh, and look at that PG... wrapping the P/U's. Never saw that before.

I have one. They made 400 of them in 2011. Nice bass, I like the short scale on a Tbird, the first fret isn't so far out like on the long scale. Neck is really comfortable. The sound is just ok to me, nothing special but usable.

It's my Friday, new strings on my purple'76 (D'Addario, I'm giving them a try) so I'll be sitting to rehearse, we have 3 shows next week, the band will be at my house on Sunday to pull it all together.

Come play a show in the UK?

I'd absolutely love to, believe it or not we're popular in Britain - A UK based publication for the Transgendered community called "Frock" did a story about us, including the cover. When Youtube showed worldwide demographics our video for "Sanctuary" showed a lot of hits from Britain, anyway if we could get some backing a tour would be fun.

I'd be so honoured to come see you play, then maybe meet you? Would be so awesome! I love your She Sells cover

Who's is this one?

That is the same bass. Bud originally built it for me with the Moses graphite neck. Unfortunately the neck began imploding and Moses would not do anything for me, so Bud built me a wenge on wenge neck to replace it. The profile on the new neck was carved to match the profile of the Moses. The pickup is wired in series, with a 3 position toggle switch that is set front coil/series/back coil. One volume, no tone.

That's so cool!
I really wondered after I found that pic in my photobucket. Beautiful bass!

Love it. All I play is GK. The Thunderbird sounds AWESOME through it.

I LOVE GK! I've played thru GK exclusively since 1980, killer stuff. I currently have a 700RBII and those two SBX's for shows, I keep a very clean used 4x10 Goldline upstairs in my practice room as well. Mike Lull lent me his Hiwatt DR103 for a couple weeks and I'll admit that I really like how it sounded but I wouldn't want to take such a rare, expensive amp out to shows.
