Thunderbird Club

I like narrow string spacing, so I have my E and G saddles pushed all the way towards the middle, then the A and D evenly-spaced relative to them. I could do without it, but I like it. I got used to narrow spacing from when I played a Danelectro.

My short fingers love closer strings. They're love a shorter scale, too, but...

This is probably a stupid comparison but Crobot seems like a gritty version of Rival Sons without the grandeur and self-importance (I don't know if that even makes sense). In other words, I like the Crobot feel/sound better.

I was always partial to this one:

WEEN - YES! They’re so good and diverse! That country album is one is their best - I love White Pepper too.

Does anyone else love Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet? I absolutely loved Reid Diamond (the original bassist); and the new guy Dallas Good is great too - and I love that he kept up the Thunderbird tradition with the band as well. This IS the tone I strive for when I play instrumental surf on my T-Bird.

That song makes me want to crush some heads.

I just saw them last year open for Yo La Tengo. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Bicentennial Thunderbird.

This was caused by a serious disagreement between the pub owners and the Valve Bar people (they run it in the basement). They are planning to reopen when they find a new venue but that could be next year.

Can't 'like' that. Hope other doors open in the meantime.

Ok... I must say I’m not familiar with that phrase. Mind you, from context I think it isn’t a positive suggestion

That sucks.
The demise of Sydney live venues continues...

Well, they are looking for a new home, so they should be back. Sounds like the relationship between them and the pub became quite toxic. I was pleased to get a spot there because they have a proper large PA and a there was a stage which will fit us all without standing on each other. There are quite a few hole-in-the-wall venues in Newtown/Enmore/Marrickville, but not sure if they are able to cope with our magnificence.
