Yea. I flipped 21st on the table plenty. Maybe others who grew up in SoCal have a different memory of King Crimson on the air. Yes got plenty of AOR play, as did ELP when Lake left Crimson to form ELP. Genesis started getting regular play with “Selling England.” The two AOR stations, KMET and KLOS, were just “ok” for proggers, with the former probably playing more of it. It was tons of Doors (it was LA after all), Zepplin, Sabbath and a reach back to In A Godda when the DJ needed a long toke break. And a fair bit of Bowie, The Underground and Lou Reed. I changed stations if Elton John came on. I was huge into vinyl and an early cassette deck owner so maybe I spent less time with radio than some.
