Thunderbird Club

I was thinking of bringing my squier shaguar along for the next gig. GF sees me with it and says "no, you should 'wear' your thunderbird", LOL. I guess to her it is my fashion accessory and she like it.
I have a VM Jag SS that goes to every gig as a backup or if space is really tight.

Like a cow? A few words/terms - glaikit, dof, dotish and hebete I'm not aware of.
Some terms are regional. "Dork", for example, did not have its 'accepted' meaning in Miami. It referred to a particular portion of male anatomy. I was rather surprised to hear it used in its current connotation.
During my time in the Navy, found out a lotta terms are used differently depending on where one is from originally.

Obviously a woman of good taste, hang onto her!

Whale anatomy if I recall. The things people say....

There will be no JC this year. It is thinkable that I may have some fortuitous family event to sponsor in the coming year, as well as other expenses looming on the near horizon, so with sigh I relinquish... I got kind of excited at the opportunity, apparently I forgot myself. It happens!
Not bumming though- I've got good gear to get it on with, a band that's getting a good buzz, kids who are looking forward to lives with promise. And I'm getting slowly out from under the deep fog of debt. Life is good.
I will wistfully kiss Opportunity goodbye, hopefully she'll be 'round again.
Meanwhile, there is THUNDER to make.
Hopefully one will cross your path in the not too distant future.

Rosewood or maple? Why choose?

Just for your curiosity, zoomed in and lined up as well as I can,
Cataldo JAEBird - current Embassy Pro - current Tbird VP - J-Bass 60s spacing:

What did I learn? It appears that the location of the Embassy's neck pickup is not a problem. And I learned that a bolt-on with maple fretboard was ok with Entwistle, at least at one point in time.

I like J-type but would like to explore the Thunderbird world without committing too much money. I think one Thunderbucker rounted into the neck pickup position of a J-type would let me try it. Not the first person to think of it. :)

If routing into the bridge position there's a legit choice of higher, lower, or could split the difference. Since I like the J with 60's spacing better (the one with 70's spacing has the bridge pickup lower), I'm happy to learn that I need not go in that direction.

FWIW, I had a Lollar in the P-Bass Position but found it to be lacking in low end:

So I moved it closer to the neck and am very happy with it.
