Thunderbird Club

Here's a story. One band member was telling me of a guitarist who was playing music for a living but unfortunately had his double-wide burn down to ashes one night while he was playing in a club. He was homeless with just a guitar to his name. Several local musicians "banded" together and put on a concert to raise money to get the musician back on his feet. Apparently they raised about $1K, not bad at all. Unfortunately he didn't get the point and used the money to buy a second guitar.

what’s a “double-wide” ???

:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

:bored:...

I beat myself up at times about finger noise on the strings when I'm not playing flats. I just realized tonight that Nikki of Silversun Pickups- who's apparently picky about her sound, especially on record- has clear noise when sliding on "Widow's Weeds". I'll keep working on minimizing it, but if Nikki can put out an album with that, I'm OK. :headphone:
Speaking of Nikki, she has tone for dayyyssss...
And I notice that she loves her some Ampeg refrigerator...
And of course THUNDERBIRDS. :bassist:
She won't even try basses that other manufacturers offer her. :wideyed:
String noise gives your playing "character."

o_O :rollno: And some people wonder why they have problems.....

Birds and feet. All is right with the world!

Use the VP this past Sunday (and comments)?

Yes! Used it on the first half of the set, which required more aggressive playing.

I really, really like playing my std IV, but I love playing the VP. It just feels even more a part of me. The angry piano sound is growing on me, though I still prefer the darker tones of the std for some things. I know the Cobalt flats contribute to that dark tone, so we’ll see what happens if I change strings on the VP. If? Yeah, the cheese graters may stay for a while.
Clams seem more obvious with the Rotosounds, and I made a couple big ones on new songs, but all I heard from others was how great things sounded.
There is now a big black box between the drum cage and bass space, containing stuff that used to be under the stage, so the cage was in no danger from the Texas-sized headstock.
I think the VP is a bit heavier than the std, but well within norms for a TB.
I love the lighter burst.
The fret ends could use a bit of polishing, but I only notice if I’m running my fingertips down them. Playing, they don’t bother me. So that’s nitpicking.
We’ll see but I may eventually place the std with a VP.

you sure this wasn’t a Thunderbird player?
