Thunderbird Club

I saw Patti Labelle on Monday at the Strawberry Festival near Orlando, what a great show, and at 75, her voice is still "all that." Of course she had a world class bassist , Alex Evans. He played a sweet orange 5er I couldn't identify, his backup was an orange Embassy shaped bass with what appeared to be Thunderbird PUPs, couldn't get close enough to say for sure, might have been a 5er. Camera guy kept blocking my line of sight.

More like 'North American'. Standard fare at IHOP and Denny's-where they call it a "Grand Slam".
also known as a Lumberjack Breakfast...this seems to be the latest craze around here..

It'll be a long long time before I trade in my heavy weight rigs for lighter items. Even my "small rig" is a JTM 45/100 into a 4x12. And if I went SS I'd go for Sunn Coliseums or Acoustic 360s. It's the benefit of being under 30, I can play heavy basses and blast heavy rigs. And I will take full advantage of that until I no longer can.
i haul my 4 X 10 Eden setup often depending on the venue.....the gardener (and a reasonable fee) take care of SVT transport two or three time a year..

Good news/bad news...

Good news
No problem with the weight of a Thunderbird on my shoulder.
Thunderbird still sounds awesome
I can now reach the 4th fret

Bad news
Can't lift a bass with my left hand - just too much weight
Can't get the strap over my head with my left hand (while the right supports the bass)
Insufficient external rotation to reach past the 4th fret
I can't lift my arm far and long enough to play for more than about 15 seconds

Prognosis
Better than it was a week ago, so it is all headed in the right direction!

Should have climbed up on his shoulders.

@Chucky Stiletti very kindly sent me a spare Tbird sticker for my pickguard!

It's going forward, that's a win in my book.
Hang in there :).

I think you need to learn to play left-handed.
