Lately I've been going in the opposite direction. I haven't touched my big rig (Ampeg SVT-VR and Bergantino NV610) in years, will probably put it up for sale soon.

All these ZZTop vids are cool. One of my favorite bands. I was able to snag this little non Thunderbird gem signed by the band and pin striped by Billy back stage after the December 3rd 1999 show at the Oakland Arena...

What many people call a 'pancake' I would call either a 'pikelet' (small ones) or a 'flapjack' (big ones).

Ha, as someone who may be the recipient of said epithet (ie you're British) I didn't think you were trying to be offensive at all. I hardly ever even say 'Pom' (not offensive) ... I do use 'cockney' or 'soft southern shandy drinking ...' to describe anyone from south of Middlesbrough though.

It'll be a long long time before I trade in my heavy weight rigs for lighter items. Even my "small rig" is a JTM 45/100 into a 4x12. And if I went SS I'd go for Sunn Coliseums or Acoustic 360s. It's the benefit of being under 30, I can play heavy basses and blast heavy rigs. And I will take full advantage of that until I no longer can.

I just had lemon and sugar on them for Pancake Tuesday.

some years ago now I had an over night work trip to Armidale. At the breakfast meeting next morning at a local cafe, I was prevailed upon to breakfast on pancakes with bacon, eggs and maple syrup. This sounded hideous to me.

However it was bloody beautiful! I was stunned.

I’m guessing that is a ‘Canadian breakfast’ ?

Probably involves maple syrup, a beer bottle, and back bacon.

Pretty common breakfast in the US.
