Thunderbird Club

I think it's doughnuts, yogurt, and beer. It's not a good idea to eat a Canadian breakfast and then go on a long, cross-country trip by Greyhound bus. I don't know from personal experience, but have been informed by a reliable source.
Look, I only agreed to let you take those pictures so that I could afford the bus ticket. And the food was your idea.

How I used to love those rigs of doom. One time I hauled in a 2x15 to sit aside the 8x10 and ran the preamp out into the power amp in of the 2nd amp. I probably thought loudness made up for ability or something, LOL.
I still do. The scrounged PA From Hell includes a 1970s Acoustic Control 400 amp, which is two power sections from 370 bass amps stuffed into a single, huge chassis. It also includes two speaker stacks that were state of the art in about 1973. Those have four front-firing 15" drivers in each of two bottom vented cabinets. There are mid horns with six piezo drivers that sit on top of the big cabinets. It is enormous and looks the part. Moving it takes two trips in the little Transit Connect van, so if it all needs to be moved at once, I rent a box van. I don't need a big pickup truck or anything else to compensate for shortcomings when it gets set up and ready for action.

It will be at least 30 years. I'm officially 60 now, and I still play through a 360 when the venue makes it feasible. By that, I don't mean easy access. I mean that the back wall is far enough away.
I'm soon to be 61, still carting this around.

Good news/bad news...

Good news
No problem with the weight of a Thunderbird on my shoulder.
Thunderbird still sounds awesome
I can now reach the 4th fret

Bad news
Can't lift a bass with my left hand - just too much weight
Can't get the strap over my head with my left hand (while the right supports the bass)
Insufficient external rotation to reach past the 4th fret
I can't lift my arm far and long enough to play for more than about 15 seconds

Prognosis
Better than it was a week ago, so it is all headed in the right direction!
Glad to hear you are on the mend!
