Thunderbird Club

I get bored and deaf if I'm not playing a lot, and if the music I rehearse gets tired and is essentially, to me, uninteresting, which happens more than I like to acknowledge... but...

I've been really, suddenly again, digging my Epi CP. At Gener80r rhrsl, I've been plugging into an old Trace 300SM head into my DIY 210 box. Love the fat, farty mids I've been getting, esp also since raising the pickup height- thanks for the reminder, @fasterpussycat . Stone in Love has new life... maybe life in the first place now, lol.

The 'Bird has come awake with the GK combo as well, more of what I really wanted from it has become available- again I credit the raised TB+ p'ups for this. And the SansAmp jig on my pedalboard, but this favorable change I'm experiencing is because of the p'up height.

It makes a difference, getting the most out of the p'ups.

Gigs...cancelled. It is the smart move. Good time to learn and tweak. Then again, I have had 45 years to learn.
My employer has asked me to cut travel. That's going to be a challenge, since my clients are scattered all over the place. On the other hand, I'm going to enjoy not getting on airplanes.

Mentioned this venue before, but there'a a club here in SF the books 15 bands a week, 5 per night. (Wed/Fri/Sat) Considering the current situation - being one of those (3-5 member) bands on one of those nights gives you a pretty good chance of getting the virus, not to mention the audience factored in. (if there is one) Yes, time to hone the band in our rehearsal 'bunkers' for when the situation stabilizes.

The club doesn't really lose booking all those bands 'cause they don't pay the bands anyway, so as much as I feel sorry for the sound-guy who is a good guy...

We're all retirement age; so's our audience-kinda the most likely demographic to be hit hardest. Cancellations imminent, I suspect. I s'pose we could do the St. Patrick's Day dance in July.:eyebrow:

We have a show coming up at our local Winters Tavern (Fri March 27th - planned months ago) but no replies back from numerous venues inquiring about playing at their club in the upcoming months. I have a feeling it's already going on here.

Thunderbird / P-Bass Thursday? Probably playing the same song 45 years apart

I'm getting really concerned that the April tour will get canceled. Hopefully, if so, we'll at least keep some of the relatively local shows.
