Got an email from my Tuesday night jazz ensemble instructor asking for ideas about how to proceed. I suggested it’s a good time for everyone to learn to record. We’ll lay down Rhythm section parts and folks can use that to play their parts to.

This is going to be a great opportunity to show how versatile the VP can be!

Can't believe how long it's been since I listened to this album. So much great stuff on it. Only weird thing is that this double album has sides 1 and 4 on one record and 2 and 3 on the other. I know why, but it's kind of annoying when you're manually flipping sides.

I am not unhappy with mine. I would rather play without headphones, but it is OK and between having beat and an aux in, it works fine.

I would still rather play my THUNDERBIRD loud and disturb everyone. But I am a bad neighbour.

I'll have to see if I can try the VOX bass-centric unit.

So is that series/parallel per pickup, with split coil pickups? I assumed it was switching the two pickups between s/p until you ref’d just the bridge.

It's series/parallel between the two pickups.

BUT

If I have the series switchon but only one pickup switched on (Jaguar is all switches), that pickup sounds markedly different, than with the series switch off.

These pickups do not have wiring exposed to change the internal coil config.

Ok, I have a Epi Blackbird and a Classic Pro. Do I need a Vintage Pro. I don’t play in a band just for giggles. Anyone any pro’s con’s over the classic. Is there any stand out pro’s? I’m loving the bridge pickup on the classic, usually turn the neck off and tone to 10

Good on them The NR is still wearing the Slinkys that came on it. I’ve always liked the feel of them and how they sound when new. The ‘15 still has the Cobalt flats. I won’t say I’m a devoted customer, but I’m glad to give them some of my business.

I guess that how you neuter a Thunderbird.

Laying on my desk I have a bumper sticker a friend gave me. Said it sounded like something I would say. I leave it on my desk and now just hold it up when someone does something just like this. It reads: "Did you have a bowl of stupid this morning?" All I need to do at times is just reach for it and a repeat offender gets the point.

I'm holding it up right now.

I'm late for Thursday. The Flamingo and the '15 in front of a whole lot of noise. There's a 360 lurking behind the drum kit if you look closely. Yeah, my photography isn't up to Jeff standards. Oh, well. Most of us don't take pictures of that standards. And, for PillO - Dude, Shoes!

I don't even see the other bass due to the beautiful Flamingo. That just looks so good. If it sounded like a Jazz bass I'd still love it. Fortunately I know it doesn't.

Do you need another reason? It's a different animal, with the big headstock and different pickups. Plus, different colors.
