Dorothy? The color of the bass reminded me of the Ruby Red Slippers from The Wizard of Oz so she's the first bass I've ever named and the new owner said he's going to keep the name and that he likes it.
Awww... that kind of sucks. I would've liked it to go to someone here in our club.
I got my asking price of clearing $400 after shipping and PayPal fees. He wanted it to come in under $500 so I had to disassemble the bass and ship it in a smaller box to get the shipping to $62 with a $900 declared value.
If anything happens to the bass during shipment, he'd want his money back and I'd want to be compensated for the lost bass. I wonder how many people think about that when declaring a value. Anyway, the price came out to $480 when I rounded up to the nearest $10 and met the buyer's sub $500 limit. He's happy, I'm happy... the mark of a good transaction.
FYI, without disassembly, the shipping and insurance came out to $108. Add in the $15 that PayPal takes and we'd have been $523... so there was a savings of $43.

I had to replace the warped bridge on my Pro V. Hipshot was great, but the neck was just too big for my hand. Always led to cramps, so I sold the bass.
Love that look! Dave Grohl's Trini / 335 in Pelham Blue is gorgeous...the blue w/ white binding just glows on stage! I was at this show at Wrigley Field...amazing. Keeping my fingers crossed for an Epi Jack Casady in Pelham Blue...
Which Hipshot? The D style is the two piece bridge and tailpiece. Or was there a drop in replacement?
Does anyone else have this problem/feature on their Epiphone Tbird?
After turning everything "off", both vol pots and tone pot, I can still hear the bass through the amp though obviously at a much lower volume. So it never shuts off the volume completely. Of course it varies with how loud the amp is set, if set at a low volume then yes I won't hear anything. If set at playable with a drummer volume, then I get a nice bedroom practice level of output with everything turned down. Not looking to fix it but just seems odd.
None of my other basses have this "feature"
