Thunderbird Club

Yes. When I’m in my study to practice, I use it with the Vox Superbeetle amp. For band rehearsal and gigs, I’m wireless (Shure GLXD16) into my Fender Rumble 200 ("vintage")
That’s “Butkus” hanging out w/ me...our blue-eyed rotty/lab/husky mix

Who's a good dog? WHO'S A GOOD DOG!

No shoes, but crazy quarantine hair?
BTW...this bass rocks, even with the stock strings! I don’t miss my Gibson T-Bird any more...

Who knew, Kevin Klein plays bass, and a thunderbird no less.;)

I t

I thought the Epi Classic Pro was better sounding, and that the Vintage Pro only won in the looks department...not true. Hands down VP for both
I completely agree.

For the past 41 years, my '77 T-bird has basically been my only bass. A few other basses have come and gone and I have a fretless for times that is required, but the bird is all I ever really needed. A few years ago the truss rod on the bird went wonky and I bought a MIM Jazz to get me by while i got the bird sorted out. The bird is back and I still have the jazz. The jazz sounds good and playing it sitting down is fun but playing it standing messes me up because it hangs off me so differently then the bird. I have to constantly look down to make sure I'm hitting the right fret. I had a brainstorm to install a strap button on the neck plate using one of the existing mounting screws to more closely duplicate the way the bird hangs off me. I know it sounds stupid and will induce neck dive but anyone ever tried this?
no, its not dumb. This is why people often get a two of the same bass shape, with different conifgs (diff pickups and/or diff amount of strings). But this is a good idea, to make two very different basses feel more similar in the clinch!

I took mine right off. I'm not a SS guy anymore and they sounded like a cheap version of Rotos to my aging ear. Might try them again for a rehearsal. I recall some liking them, but couldn't find exactly what they were. GHS Progressives go sound great on VPs.

Now you need a burst VP!

I’ve actually put coat and tie on yesterday and today for video conference appearances. I even wore pants instead of shorts today; had a bit of an issue yesterday and got “busted.” There was a bit of laughter though...
I've just been putting on a dress shirt for my video meetings. But have to make sure nothing goofy or distracting is on my credenza or behind me in my home office. I do need to put a Thunderbird on a stand in the background. Just so everyone will be distracted--and think I'm cool. I used to be cool. But I don't seem to have it any longer. I don't know where I left it, or when it left me. The Thunderbird's gotta help.

I put some bird seed out on the deck and......

Finally did a family photo.
Yes, I've got to stain the deck. Bad.

I’m using the virtual background setting in zoom.

That photo above would be perfect for that.
