The PF350 is “350 watts” - going downhill with a tailwind
You mean the volume of tube amps isn't more loud because the sound waves get to bounce around in the tubes before hitting the driver? Come on, transistors just can't do that.....

Although all the watts may be there, they may not be user accessible.

LOL - and great watts they are!
Seriously - I've come to the conclusion that watts are not all equal. I've had amps that stated a given watt output but were much more powerful and had more headroom than other amps with higher stated watts. So there might just be something to that GK watts statement of yours. In essence GK watts might be louder than Beringher watts. :D
not that simple....Wattage alone doesn't really say much but amps have to be rated in something and power might as well be it. type of speaker, enclosure, preamp emphasis, bass type, cabling, pickup types and on, and on .....is what defines the perceived response of the setup not taking into account taste and bias of the user which of course, is different ball of wax...

definitely on to something there. for a long time, modeling amp builders had a hard time accurately emulating some combos (JTM-45 comes to mind) because they were neglecting the mechanical interaction between the speaker and tubes (which would mechanically couple) in the algorithm ....yeah, try that with transistors!...

The MB200 sure seems louder than the PF-350.

Hence the term "Valves"
