A wee while back I said my Band 'Still Whisky' was playing with Don Powell of Slade fame to promote the charity Don is associated with. The Gig was yesterday and we did just over 50 minutes with Don of Rock Classics and finished with "Cum in feel the Noize". A really great wee gig and Don is a really nice dude. Anyway, as requested here are a few photos from the gig, not using my Thunderbird though!

I decided I'm gonna sand all the clear off the neck of my Goth, which lead me to decide to sand it to the bare wood and do either a tung oil or linseed oil finish, which I LOVE the feel of. I started that sanding tonight, and it's still gonna take a while. Now that the neck is off, I'm really thinking I want to re-profile the headstock to get rid of that neck dive into more of a Mike Lull or Carvin type shape, and while it's apart, I'm thinking about how to refinish the body. I really like the flat black, so I'm confident I'll stick with that, but one of the members here has a couple of TBirds that he wrapped that look awesome (one is bright orange, another is white, I think, and I wanna say one is at least partially a carbon fibre wrap) and look like they'd offend some people's sensibilities, which I'm TOTALLY in favor of.

I bought this one expecting a project, but it may end up being more of a project than I had initially realized! That's OK; I'm up for it. At any rate, here's the before photos:

I just wish somebody made pick up rings for Epi's. I've found 'em for Gibsons, but not Epi's.

I'm torn between requesting a number now or waiting till I'm more finished with it. If 460 is next available, I'd be down with that. Love a big block motor.

460 is all yours Haji, see the list above. - There's a company selling pickup covers and rings (I think they're German) that should work on your Epi.

They're the neon hi def blue ones, I was in the same boat untill i saw the white ibanez k5 then i thought why not, I like them

They are coated roundwounds so i couldnt say. Never used tapewounds though might have to give them a bash on my bitsa p

A poor tbird active transformed into a V. Not a bad thing, just kinda weird. IMO, the bird headstock doesn't fit the V style body.
