So, I'm thinking about my options as far as replacing the tuners on my Epiphone Classic IV.

Initially I was thinking possibly Grover Imperials, but it seems they don't make that style for bass. Suggestions?

I ordered a set of Hipshot Ultralights with mini clover keys for my Classic IV. These are specifically made for T-Birds and they don't list them on the website for some reason, so you have to call them to place an order.

If you do order them, make sure you talk to Jason first. I initially emailed them to ask about availability/price and Jason quoted me a price of $100 for the set, but when I called to place the order, Oscar tried to charge me $35 per tuner. I'm sure it was honest mistake, (I had to wait another day to order while Oscar verified the $100 price with Jason) but you never know.

oh man, this V talk makes me want a V bass...again!!

i used to want one because they looked cool, unique & because of Murdoc niccals from the animated band Gorillaz (seen in feel good inc video). But after never being able to find one (other than the dean metalman series - which i don't like), eventually i stopped wanting one. I'd even thought of epiphone, but: i dislike gold hardware. I may or may not build one (but i know i'd rather have a v guitar)

What do they look like?

They look just like regular clover-key tuners, only a little smaller to accommodate the T-Bird spacing. I'm still waiting for them to arrive, but when I'll post some pics after I install them.
Ah, okay. I'm looking for some more unusual looking ones. Hence why I was initially interested in the Grover Imperial style, and disappointed that they apparently aren't available for bass.

Here's a crappy phone picture of my Epiphone:

My experience exactly, when I upgraded to mini-clovers.
