Small but appreciative crowd(~25 ppl). Easy gig, 7-10. Home by 10:45. Consuming a "Night Swim" by Coppertail Brewing outta Tampa. Very fine porter. 6.2 ABV.

Thx. We had a sub guitarist-who we've worked with before. We all know the same[stuff], although sometimes in different keys but that's no BFD with these guys. I will admit, it's the first time I've ever played "Pretty Woman" in C. Usually it's A. Slight challenge.

TBH, Ab woulda been OK too. I'm generally not bothered by "weird" keys. Probably due to my sax playing experience. In general, good keys for horns suck for guitars.

The pots needed a good cleaning, the output jack needed to be bent a bit for more solid contact, the action needed to be dropped in half and the intonation needed to be set. All that done and plugged her in for a good flogging. She's definitely a keeper! Bold agressive loud single pup beast. Nice and light weight, comfy neck (set neck not neck through, but very well disguised). The strings are completely broken in Roto Flats, which means they sound creamy smooth. I'd keep them on but the previous owner wasn't as OCD as I am, some are wound up from the bottom, some wound down from the top, some silks nearly gone, others are complete fuzz balls, one with one wrap another with 10 wraps, go figure. They'll come off and I'll start a string journey on this bass as well (still have ongoing ones with the 2015 and the VP).

I have the action down to 2/32" clearance on the open E string at the 12th fret (was 7/32" when it arrived - yikes!). Had to slam the bridge all the way down to get it there, will probably back off a bit and bring it back up to one or two 32nds more, this bass just begs to be played hard with plenty of digging in, perfect for live stage work (which I don't do anymore). Didn't need to adjust the truss, but the neck looks good and straight.

I'm happy! Thanks to Queen Veronica for the goading, well worth the money.

LOL - thx for the heads up but I ordered it about 5 minutes before I saw your post. I stumbled across it by accident while looking at Firebird NR guitars, trying to figure out what it would take to convert one to a bass. Couldn't believe they had not only the Firebird part wrong but even the BaCH brand that's plastered all over the headstock. Wasn't looking for a black one, but these things are so hard to find ya gotta take whatever comes up. Hopefully will be here late next week.

I try not to get too excited about something until I have it in hand, there's a lot that can go wrong with the deal between now and when it's supposed to arrive. I've had GC sell my purchased equipment to other people before, it happens. I've also had items just disappear in shipping and never arrive. So we'll see if this one was meant to be. If I get it and you ever want to trade for that worthless beat up 67 just let me know.

FWIW - I have about a dozen domestic feeds and a couple of international feeds for BaCH birds out there. If another one pops up (and it will) I'll PM you.

I don't know how long it had been posted but I stumbled on it while looking for trashed bottom dollar NR Firebirds to convert to a bass (got that crazy idea from someone here that bought a trashed Musicman guitar to convert to bass). Instantly pulled the trigger then logged on to TB only to find Nocturnals heads up a few minutes later. I hope everything goes through without a hitch, really looking forward to having an NR in the mix.
BTW - so far the Greco is awesome. There's quite a difference between a single pup and dual pup bird (well, that and the pups are totally different).

In all seriosity, I'd like to have a second NR to kinda retire the 67 from public performance, but I don't really need 2 and I know you've been a-hankerin' for one. Major congrats on both acquisitions.

I'm glad you like it already, Greco Birds are wonderful, I treasure mine, incidentally mine got some new strings as well, I enjoyed playing mine this afternoon too.

I finally fired up the computer[1] I did some recording on ... back in 2009. It was my first attempt at recording something of mine on computer. I wanted to finally add THUNDERBIRD and percussion to the guitar and vocal, only to realize that while it was a decent first effort[6], the vocal needs to be redone by someone who can sing.

The only problem is what to record on. I don't want to depend on that poor box, although I'll likely start with it. 64studio OS has been abandoned. There are other Linux realtime kernel-based solutions, but I don't have a ton of confidence in any of them at the moment. What are y'all using for recording software? I used Audacity, Ardour, and something else. Don't really recall what. Linux and Mac are both viable options for me.

[1] A 20 year old white box based on a 400MHz AMD K6. Not sure if it was a 2 or 3. 1GB RAM, 40GB hdd. 100MHz network card. Yeehah.
[6] Take 6 was the only usable one.

I am running Reaper on a 2010 iMac (extra ram and SSD) I have a Focusrite Saffire Pro40 (FireWire). The new Win10 versions available don’t play nice with the focusrite drivers.
Reaper is fully functional and free, with nagging pop ups until you pay them. Then the license is only $60.

I don't know about fun, but certainly adds to the price. I estimate that each additional letter adds about US$50 to the retail. So your Ri adds $100 -> $949.99

I have had two amp heads purchased, only to receive an email later saying they were out of stock when I purchased it. I bought a very nice Genz Benz STB900 that they ended up shipping with the 1-15 cab it was mounted in for a total of $243. (Ended up selling the head and cab and made about $400 on the deal) I fully expected an email telling me that wasn't available or the price was wrong, but instead the email contained shipping info.
When I bought the 77 Bird, a guy in my FB group kept talking about buying it as it was still hanging on the wall and they were trying to sell it to him both times he went in to look at it. I had bought and paid for it 3 days before his last post saying he went to look at it. I finally received the shipping info and was able to breathe again. This was dealing with the S. Austin location that the Bach was just located in. Hopefully you have better service from them. At least they have removed the listing, so that's a step in the right direction for you.

The Bach looks stock aside from the pickguard. I had replaced the original pickup with one of the Gibson TB Plus humbucker type's from an LP bass, but attached a chrome pickup cover over it. Sounded killer!
