I hear ya!I'd need to start selling so much gear if Gibson did a proper reissue with the same effort they put into guitars. But only if they made a II.

I’m getting cross eyed trying to look at them in my iPad. Getting old is the pits.Seems so. But I haven't measured. The only comparison pics I have. You can see the claw is about even with the tone knob, and the same seems to true for the hipshot.

Those aren't great pics either. They are not bright and while clear on my computer, after copied to TB they are not very clear.I’m getting cross eyed trying to look at them in my iPad. Getting old is the pits.
They’re fine. I just can’t see worth poopie. I’m working on site reading and have to make things way bigger than I used to. I just got new glasses. They help, but it’s frustrating. Those aren't great pics either. They are not bright and while clear on my computer, after copied to TB they are not very clear.
They have crime in Canada?Saw on the news: Reputed Mob boss gunned down in Canada. You OK PillO?

Anyone customize their t-birds with different pickups if so which ones are best?
There's no one *best*, while I use Lulls in some of mine I also have some with the stock Gibson, Epiphone, Jackson or whatever in them as well. There are many fans of Thunderbucker Ranch here, and the work of Jason Lollar gets really high praise as well.
Lull + Gibson, in this case an '89.

I vote for a four saddle Mustang style..… Sterling St. Vincent guitar with all guitar hardware has Chinese Thunderbird style bass neck now .... needs a bass bringe...(and a bridge cover) ... bass pickups too...

In that photo the basses look a lot closer size wise, obviously different, but the Epi doesn't seem as gigantic as in the other photo. The proportions are slightly different and the pickups and hardware are located differently, I guess Epi just went with the more modern spacing on the pickups.
I'll also throw the EYguitar or Chinabuckers in the ring, those are solid pickups at a great price. And the Greco pickups, though those aren't likely to crop up for sale ever.
yeah, see? that's what I mean...seems like lots of the time it's just the photo..In that photo the basses look a lot closer size wise, obviously different, but the Epi doesn't seem as gigantic as in the other photo. how did you hear about the Cobalts?I had D'Addario tapes on the 67 NR for quite awhile. Liked them a lot, but I wanted to try the EBCF's. I might go back to tapes some day, but for now I'm pretty pleased with the Cobalt Flats.
Some guy in NYC mentioned them.how did you hear about the Cobalts?
Yeah, who knew. I didn't know they had Dons! They have crime in Canada?
I think you're right. Measurement wise, it's not that much larger. The headstock is clearly larger. The PUs on the VP: The bridge PU is closer to the bridge. On the modern Gibsons, the neck PU is closer to the neck and further from the bridge. Thus contributing to the darker sound. In that photo the basses look a lot closer size wise, obviously different, but the Epi doesn't seem as gigantic as in the other photo. Well, now we have a challenge. Can we add pages faster than @JJR58 can read them?15-16 pages to catch up on, mmmm.
I need dinner first.
My feeling is that the nut is a little too high, while the 1st fret wire is a hair low. At a saner action than what I began with, this is no longer a problem.Sounds like you got it working, but are the nut slots too low?
In the spirit of The Ox.Man. That’s low.
