Congrats! Always nice to hear when someone has found a partner to share their life with. Be sure to remind your new crush that we all think you're quite a catch.

You say the nicest things

I had no idea you cared, Man Crush Friday :roflmao: However, I'm recently engaged as some here that share FB with me know - My days of being a single Queen are over.

Uh, ok then. My crush is on the wonderful PB NR Thunderbird. It would be sell a kidney time for me if that ever came up for sale.

I do appreciate Tbird players too; this one’s more to my preference:

Contemplating that it is time to put in an order to Fretnation.

I recall that someone here was giving SIT steels a go on his/her 'bird.

Any report on how they sound. Specific comparison to RS66 or other widely used string is appreciated.
I was one of them. Never got my order from Fretnation and no response to last email I sent last Saturday. I placed an order on the SIT website; took about a week to arrive. They’ve been on the ‘13 NR for a week. Pretty much got them dialed in on Sunday. I am liking them. Tone sounds “birdy” and surprisingly similar to the VP that is currently wearing nickel rounds - Slinkys. I can’t tell you how they compare to SS Rotos, other than feeling a little smoother than what I recall Rotos feeling like.

Thank you, Mike. I love a good nap (esp with the kitty), and even have a 30 min. one at work.

I have mixed feelings on the RS66. They are good, I like the clank. They break in relatively quickly and maintain. And when they go, they go fast. They are good, but I keep second guessing if there is something better.

Because I have the white bird tuned to D standard, I have been contemplating using DDTs next.
I have the DDTs on my Les Paul Junior shaped object tuned to D. They are very growly on that bass!

I use to use RS66's, and I found DR Lowrider SS to be comparable in sound, and smoother feeling than the roto's.

I find the DR's keep the sound I like longer. I like the RS's when they mellow, but that mellow dies pretty quickly in my experience.

Good Luck!
