My wife's parents talked to her sister's future husband about how ill-tempered their daughter was. I don't know the wording of the conversation, but they even warned him. He's about 7 years older than her and didn't listen. They got married and are "together" generally speaking. He's a saint (or glutton for punishment) for staying with her. I would have flushed her decades ago if she treated me that way. Then talks about his faults (he has some!) and every few years that she ought to divorce him! It's the other way around. Finally my wife told her (older) sister she ought to be thankful for Dave for being a decent guy. My wife's parents didn't give them that same kindness.

Fortunately my wife is not her sister in so many ways. But still has a strong streak of moodiness that pops out at times. But we're happy together. Given that I'm nearly perfect it just makes any of her flaws more pronounced.
