Not sure Hillerup, I bought it from Denmark street in London.... Probably paid a bit of a premium but it is in top condition, all original with pickup covers and played like a dream.

I saw GnR in their first tour, something like 6 days after Jungle was released. Didn't even have the record yet and went to see em. TSOL opened, and both bands were fantastic that night. Fast forward a few years to the GnR/Metallica stadium tour. Metallica was really good, but GnR...they were a bloated caricature of what they used to be. Just a joke. Sloppy, and apparently too messed up to care.
I've been looking for sales figures for Chinese Democracy. They don't appear to exist. Must be a great feeling to waste 14 years making a record and then sell 12 copies.

Congrats! My first TBird was a 76 in black. The only bass I truly regret selling.
I tried to pace myself by not having more basses than the number of years I've been playing.
Well... I have five basses and will celebrate three years of playing in October. 2 are Birds.

Thunderbirds are funny that way. They are not the default choice of the generic bass player, and it seems like they choose you as much as you choose them. Playing a Thunderbird is even quirkier than playing a Rickenbacker, although I think we are just as devoted to our 'Birds as Ric people are to their Rics. Maybe more.

I bet they're still paying the recording costs of that thing back. What they don't tell you is that Axl has 2.93 million copies of it in a warehouse in Reseda.

First time I heard Guns n Roses I hated them. I thought they were sloppy and probably knew it, Axle was a whiny monster. I came to like them and esp Duff's playing, for awhile... now I could care less, really, and am a bit put off by his new gig with AC/DC. But then, I like Vital Transformation by Mahavishnu, and Red by Crimson. And Free...
Highway to Hell was a great record, Bon was their singer. Respect for Brian, but it is what it is.

That just got worse and worse as time went on. My wife even bought me Chinese Democracy when it eventually came out... Think I've played it through once.
AC/DC... I'm old enough to have just been getting interested in music as a schoolboy when they started recording with Bon. I was hooked when I heard "Baby Please Don't Go".
Bought the first 2 albums on cassette, then the rest of the Bon era on record plus the first couple of Brian era. Then all of them up to Back in Black again on CD. Saw AC/DC pre their overseas jaunts when they were a local band (the Youngs grew up about 2 suburbs over from me in Sydney) doing great; plus quite a few times since, their first return plus their visits as an International Act. The last concert was so much better than the previous one or two... And I worked out why. They included a larger percentage of 'Bon songs'.
If I'm playing their stuff I fish in the Bon+Back in Black pool... Plus a rare few other songs since then.

I saw AC DC pre Bonn and in the Bonn era a number of times around Sydney in the early days. Great music scene back then BTW.
I never saw Brian with AC DC but heard him from some distance in the 80s. I was fishing a few miles up Sydney Harbour one night they were playing and could hear them loud and clear.

Before I got here, I didn't even like Thunderbirds. Now, when I'm not playing mine, I can't stop thinking about getting another one! (maybe an NR) I think of money in terms of how many 'Thunderbirds' it is! ("are you kidding me?? That thing costs almost THREE Thunderbirds!") I cant sleep! I can't focus at work! My wife left me! I want to build a 'Fenderbird'! I check this thread compulsively and all these people remorslessly fuel my affliction!
