Thunderbird Club

I thought you all were just unemployed extras wandering aimlessly since the cancellation of Northern Exposure! ;)

You want to watch this...........Invalid Link Removed

It's dark, slow and really good. Set in Seattle, but majority of it is shot in Vancouver, BC. It's rainy and gray in a way that only Seattle can be, not your typical cop show at all, I really enjoyed it - all 44 episodes.

An awesome series! We watched it all too. Being from the western prairies we always joke about the lack of sun on the west coast. Funny thing is that we all want to live there!!!!:D

Amazing series. Binge watched it over 3 or 4 weekends.

Hey, cut that out! The reason you have a green car is moss. It was a yellow car a week ago. The sunshine is a hologram. It's 100% fake. We are all pale wet creatures out here, and we look and act like Gollum. Except when we get really big, grow hair, and turn into Bigfoot.

Did I miss anything?

LOL! That sounds pretty spot on! :)

As much as I didn't want to accept it, I have to say Axl's range is right in there where he can reasonably cover Brian's songs. I haven't heard him do a Bon song yet though. Still all in all, I'm still reluctant to accept this Axl/DC thing and hope it's temporary as stated to complete the tour. Would love to see Brian get some help, supposedly they are working on new earbuds that have a sort of artificial "eardrum" built in that would absorb the damaging levels of sound before reaching the actual eardrum and causing (further in Brian's case) physical damage.
Eh, I dunno. I always found Axl to be the weak link in Guns'n'Roses. Like I'd just kinda have to ignore his voice to listen to their songs.

I mean, I only even found Brian to be "okay" as a vocalist for AC/DC, as to my ears, his vocals lacked the snark that Bon Scott's had.

This might be sacrilege but this is exactly how I feel.

I'm pretty open that way, GnR wouldn't have been GnR without Axl, and I look at Brian Johmson the same way as I look at Sammy Hagar in Van Halen... different band with the same name, who made some fantastic albums.

As far as Axl/DC, I thought he did a great job, sounded great doing the songs, and it took a lot of guts and confidence to do it. It is a short term thing to finish the tour, and they probably had a ton of fun.

Just jumping in here to throw this out: played the 2012 NR bird for the fourth rehearsal in a row and it's without a doubt my new #1. I wouldn't have believed it a year ago, but despite a touch of neck heaviness, it's a wonderfully beautiful bass in every sense. I friggin' love it.

The word is THUNDERBIRD!

I love reading stuff like this

When GnR hit big in late '87 and '88 I was hooked, loved Appetite, played it constantly. Thought Axl to be one of the best front men of the day but as time and ego wore on, he just became another Rock Star douche who felt he was better than the rest of us. Late taking the stage being one of his new privileges, screw the punters who paid to see the band and had to work the next morning. He pretty much ruined GnR from that point on. How many years did Chinese Democracy take to come out and for what? Couldn't care less about him these days.
I've always liked Brian Johnson with AC/DC and I was a fan of the band since the release of Let There Be Rock, saw them twice with Bon. Unfortunately Bon accidentally did himself in and the band chose to carry on with a new vocalist, honestly, I don't blame them, that was their career. Apparently Bon had seen Brian and said if you ever replace me, that's the guy, premonition maybe? I like either one.

Same here... However I do respect Brian's part in AC/DC and think he's done a great jobs replacing Bon - But that being said, I think AC/DC lost it's magic when Bon passed away (or at least they did for me). That high pitched Aussie whine of his was what really made them stand out from the rest, back in the days. :)

Well this forum definitely has a lot to answer for... Just placed the order for a black '76... Due to arrive Tuesday!!! Will obviously post pics when I can.... Obviously going to be a long wait over the weekend!
We are always happy to help. Now, when you need another one, we can help rationalize that, too. One is never enough. Just saying.
