I don’t see many Gibsons come up for reasonable $ in my area. As much as I like worn basses, the damage to the top of the center section on this would bug me too much:

Not sure how that price stacks up for birds in your area, but the player wear looks honest and might be indicative of a good playing bass. Sometimes the pristine case queen basses are just that because they lack playing hours and just don't have the sound or feel of a better playing bass.

Note worthy:
Looks all original and heavily played but not abused. The bridge screws are nice and neat, not torn up so it hasn't had many needs for height adjustments, probably a very stable neck. The back of the upper horn has had the clear coat worn off, no real signs of abrasion so maybe someone who played it shirtless? The headstock doesn't looked like it's been banged up. The wear into the wood on the front looks like player wear not damage from abuse. Missing Center cap on tone pot. Great case if you're into gigging and need a durable transport. All in all, a very nice bass If the price is right.

Well at least it is accurately described. It certainly has been played. It’s probably a real good one. And a nice rugged case. But yeah, that would bug me a lot too. Maybe try to dicker and see if it could be repaired?

Not really, but two of the ones I remember most, Whittier in ‘87, Loma Prieta in ‘89, happened in October.
I know enough geology to know there is no season...;)

I remember the Loma Prieta quake because:
1. I saw it on TV - the world series quake
2. The death toll was low because so many people left work early to see the game
3. I caused the Embrcadero to collapse
4. Allowing the creation of the SF friday night skate which I attended very regularly from 2000-2003

Wait. You caused the Embarcadero to collapse?

We have been very lucky. The Loma Prieta quake could have killed a lot more people. Similarly, the Norwalk quake happened very early in the morning on The MLK Holiday.

Wait. You caused the Embarcadero to collapse?
I have never claimed responsibility, nor have been indicted for it by a grand jury.

Sure who do want to have owned it? Axl or Izzy Stradlin? Maybe one of the roadies? Even better, I could have it as a gift from Alice Cooper to Slash...
Duff gave it to his bass Tech, who gave it to his nephew for his 13th Birthday. The nephew stopped playing when he went to university, so it was left in his Dad’s basement for 10 years. Sound realistic enough?
