Thunderbird Club

My Jazz bass has that same thing:

Nice Jazz.
Checking is one of those odd things to me. I have a white 1968 P bass with honest player wear thru the finish in a couple of spots, yellowing on all exposed surfaces, shrinkage of the pickguard and a fair amount of checking. But I also have a 1974 Mustang Guitar in Burst finish that has very little player wear, no obvious discoloration, no shrinkage on the guard, and no noticable checking. No checking on my 1977 Greco Thunderbird either. Why one has checking and the others don't seems odd to me. None have been refinished, FWIW the P bass is always stored in its case as was the TBird but the Mustang is always stored on a hanger.

Just had a small earthquake here in SoCal. That reminds me, I need to put the Quake protectors (guitar gig bags) back on my hanging basses. Wouldn't want them smashing into each other or into the wall on a bigger rumble. If you live in a seismic area and have hanging basses the guitar gig bag hack could be a real plus in a significant shaker.

Well, got bad-ish news about the SQ Greco - apparently, it got some minor damage from shipping, and they sent it back to the shipper, who looked into fixing it. But apparently he decided to not go that route & sent me a full refund instead.

I feel like I should be :crying:
But he did do the refund unprompted, so... :sorry:

:(
Quality vendor - processing a return unprompted.

Sorry to hear about the SQ `bird.

All those basses look cozy tucked into their sleeping bags.

Sorry about that. Glad the seller aspect worked so well. Could have been a problem there as well.

Sorry about the Greco but on the plus side, $ available for the current project.

Yes!

Gonna get on the parts buying asap. (My favorite part! :hyper: )

Bridge & tuners are the main parts left; also got to get a pickguard (for now, probably just something to get the hole situation sorted, and decide what the final color should be later) & trc, as well as knobs :)

No! Use the funds to acquire more projects!

So sorry to hear that, hate it when shipping damage happens. At least the vendor was good about it.
From an enabler standpoint - on the bright side, there's always this one...

Really sorry to hear that, Kara. But very impressive way the seller handled it. At the very least. :(
