Thunderbird Club

I don't know the technology, but it isn't your cache or cookies that are the culprit. It is some sort of aplet that is downloaded by the site that then remains resident in your browser. So refreshing and clearing cache and cookies does nothing. I don't know if closing and reopening the browser clears it. Some sites, even with infrequent visits, seem to know what you have been up to. In my opinion, extremely creepy.

Personally, I use anti-tracking software.

But I may be more paranoid than is warranted.

You're not.

My employer has (and has had) some awesome board members. I can't recall which it was but one of them was involved eith designing and managing those speaker arrays. Can't find my notes; I'll have to ask our CEO who it was.

I’m not sure of all the ins and outs.

But yes, the border between SD and Baja was pretty lax. Heck, I remember as a kid in the sixties riding in the car to and from TJ being no big deal.

Once the San Diego Gas & Electric plant was completed, which grandpa worked on for a long time, there were lots of San Diego tradesmen available for other projects. That was one of them, and pretty big for it’s time. San Diego was a thirsty Navy town so the brewing capacity was needed. My Dad says when he was in high school they made regular trips down for beer, usually Bohemia brand from Tecate, because that was the cheapest.

The whole border was lax. We just walked across the bridge from El Paso to Juarez, just part of the crowd.

I think they claimed 15-20 but I'm not really sure. I have 11 right now and could easily add more.
The company’s instructions, information, videos are pretty good. I used their hardware. Used a good stud finder and measured, marked, remeasured etc. Attached to every stud and used the anchors in between each stud. It’s really solid, but I followed their instructions to the letter. There are posts on here of people who had problems, but they obviously didn’t follow the instructions.

I have 8 on the 4’ and I think it’s a bit crowded; I’ll stop at seven on each when done. I’d think 15 would be about the most I’d go with on an 8’ with the one in the middle flat like Noc’s Anniversary Tbird and the rest at 45 degrees. You can do more at 90 degrees using the longer brackets set at 90 degrees. It’s a good solution IMO.

I do and really love it! It was my 50th birthday gift from my wife. She thought it was cool that my favorite bass was released the same year I was born, and who am I to argue when a woman wants to buy me a Thunderbird??
Hummm. My wife was born in 64. I'm wondering if I can find and give her a '64 Thunderbird for her birthday…. I'm starting to feel bad about being the only one in the household who has one. That's just not fair. She should have her own Thunderbird from her birth year. I have a couple basses from her birth year, but she has nothing. What kind of husband am I?

Please let me know at what point this starts to sound convincing and I can use this. I am thinking this isn't going to work.

It’s like when Homer bought Marge a bowling ball for her birthday. With HIS name on it. And drilled out for HIS fingers. That worked out in the end. After a long detour where Marge almost had an affair with a charming French bowling instructor... but it worked out in the end (and resulted in one of my favorite Simpson’s lines ever: “Hey Homer, where are you going?” “I’m going to the parking lot with the woman I love, and I won’t be back for TEN MINUTES!”).

Nice!
Thank you for Checking in on fractured Friday.

That brings to mind, I don't think I ever recall seeing a vintage Thunderbird with player wear through large portions of the finish like is so common on many 1960's and older era fenders. I imagine they're out there but I just can't recall seeing any. @JIO has a cool long running picture thread on TB highlighting honest excessive player wear, might be something there.
