Good catch!Ah! The extremely rare 2-string 7enderbird-with Whammy.![]()
Well as far as I know, I'm the only one who has ever built one.Good catch!Bet Geddy doesn't have 14 of those.
I assume you're correct, can't think of any other logical answer. The good news is, I can game that system.Persistent tracking. Even after you leave the site, it keeps sending information back on what sites you are visiting. Facebook does the same. It is a "feature" of some browsers as well - sending browsing data back to various parties.
Creepy. Then think - if you are visiting your bank website and checking balances what gets sent back? Then it is very creepy, bordering on criminal creepy (cyber-stalking). There is tracking protection software available. But then you won't get ads for shipping containers if you start looking at commercial shipping sites.
It was a listing on Amazon that (like everything on Amazon) on first glance is made to look direct unless you know where to look, but once you place the item in your inbox it's clearly being sold and shipped by Guitar Audio Company. Interestingly, if you visit that website their pricing for the two point Hipshot supertone is $87 and the three point is $117. I've triple confirmed I ordered and paid for the three point, and the shipping confirmation lists three point as well. So either I got the three point at two point pricing or the seller messed up the order and the invoice and the shipping info and I'll be receiving a two point, which isn't what I ordered or paid for. Time will tell.Do you know who the vendor was or did it appear to be Amazon direct?
I don't know the technology, but it isn't your cache or cookies that are the culprit. It is some sort of aplet that is downloaded by the site that then remains resident in your browser. So refreshing and clearing cache and cookies does nothing. I don't know if closing and reopening the browser clears it. Some sites, even with infrequent visits, seem to know what you have been up to. In my opinion, extremely creepy.I assume you're correct, can't think of any other logical answer. The good news is, I can game that system.
From now on I'll clear my cache, log on to Amazon (vs just visiting their website) and find what I want, then open multiple windows and surf the net for a better price. Before I pull the trigger I'll jump back to Amazon and refresh the window. If they now have the lowest delivered cost I'll pull the trigger there. Then log out and clear my cache.

Personally, I use anti-tracking software.
But I may be more paranoid than is warranted.
Or not.

I had an early 80s fender case I stored my '55 Pbass in for a while. Something in the composition of the case softened the finish on the body. Even left an impression of a wipe towel that was touching the body. Changed cases and the finish returned back to normal--with a few new impressions on the back. I recall that was an issue with those cases and some finishes. I think it was the foam fumes as the foam itself was never in contact with the bass.
that's really interesting...were they subcontracting American labor? Or, were the borders more lax during the war? Or, was he a local?..My grandpa (Mom’s Dad) was a steamfitter. They lived in San Diego. One of his main jobs during WW II was working on the Tecate Brewery in Baja. One of these days I’m going to go down and visit the place.

...there's a couple of reasons their fans are called Dead Heads, and a massive wall of sound is just one of them. Couple of nice Alembics on stage, might be a Gibby in the middle, not sure.

The Grateful Deaf? Deaf Heads? The wall of tinnitus?Lots of Thunder in this pic but unfortunately no birds...

Years later (after the interwebs were invented) I heard it was a problem, but you are the first person I know of other than myself who had that issues. You described it to a tee.I had the same issue with my 73" jazz bass and its mid 80's Fender molded plastic case. The fur on the inside of the case left an impression on the finish.
The finish on the bass was soft and sticky in that spot for years. After I switched cases, it solidified and has not been a issue since.
looks pretty good to me!....My current contribution to Thunderbird Thursday is not quite awesome, but since I got my new wires in today, I may have more later!

I’m not sure of all the ins and outs.that's really interesting...were they subcontracting American labor? Or, were the borders more lax during the war? Or, was he a local?..
I used to be a big fan of Carta Blanca, to which I was introduced on my first(of many)trips to TJ while in the Navy in SD. At least 'til I turned 21.I’m not sure of all the ins and outs.
But yes, the border between SD and Baja was pretty lax. Heck, I remember as a kid in the sixties riding in the car to and from TJ being no big deal.
Once the San Diego Gas & Electric plant was completed, which grandpa worked on for a long time, there were lots of San Diego tradesmen available for other projects. That was one of them, and pretty big for it’s time. San Diego was a thirsty Navy town so the brewing capacity was needed. My Dad says when he was in high school they made regular trips down for beer, usually Bohemia brand from Tecate, because that was the cheapest.
