Well, that’s a good price. When I bought one in January, the cheapest deal was Best Bass Gear with one of their promo codes (get on their mailing list). $94.50 including tax and shipping. But it took a couple months to arrive. I’m patient and saved some bucks, but I said next time I’ll order from HS directly.I assume you're correct, can't think of any other logical answer. The good news is, I can game that system.
From now on I'll clear my cache, log on to Amazon (vs just visiting their website) and find what I want, then open multiple windows and surf the net for a better price. Before I pull the trigger I'll jump back to Amazon and refresh the window. If they now have the lowest delivered cost I'll pull the trigger there. Then log out and clear my cache.
It was a listing on Amazon that (like everything on Amazon) on first glance is made to look direct unless you know where to look, but once you place the item in your inbox it's clearly being sold and shipped by Guitar Audio Company. Interestingly, if you visit that website their pricing for the two point Hipshot supertone is $87 and the three point is $117. I've triple confirmed I ordered and paid for the three point, and the shipping confirmation lists three point as well. So either I got the three point at two point pricing or the seller messed up the order and the invoice and the shipping info and I'll be receiving a two point, which isn't what I ordered or paid for. Time will tell.
It’ll be fun to see what shows up and how long it takes.
