Wait a minute. Wasn't that where the Hitchcock movie "The Birds", was taking place.
Better watch out for those pesky Sea Gulls and Crows.

Believe that is further south in Marin county...

You can put a Gibson label on it now!Interesting!
I just picked up a Mesa D800 Subway amp with a 115 and 112 cabs yesterday!
Wow! Thanks Larry, did you know they were gonna showcase that bass before it happened or were just watching and it came up? Wanna look for that episode now..14K! I'm thinking not for anyone that wants to gig with it unless they happen to be really well off and as an investment, that has to be a price that's well north of the going rate. From what I've seen, 9-10K would be about right.
On last Monday's episode of Pawn Stars, a guy traded in a player's TBird, not abused, '79 Bicentennial in natural finish for $7,500... the expert that they called in said it was worth 9K.
Anyone played one of these? Saw it pop up in my Reverb feed, I'd kinda forgotten about them. Think it'd look a lot better with some chrome thunderbird pickups, and maybe a neck humbucker added, plus a black guard.

I read a little on the background. Owner/founder of MB is 74 and still going into work everyday. Sounds like it was driven by a desire for retirement.I just got that email. I think it is interesting and a much better fit than the deals the previous CEO did.
There may be some synergies, but only on the sales/marketing/administration side. The shared distribution probably reduces costs to some degree.
It would be interesting to know the back story - I don't know who owned MB and if there was something going on there that could have driven the sale.

Yeah, she's awesome, her "Back up" bass is a White Rickenbacker 4003.There's a real dearth of information about Gail Greenwood's bass playing, gear. etc. She's as much fun to watch as to hear, although I see a lot of comments dissing her for her energy levels. No accounting for taste. Seems like a pretty awesome person, too.

she's from RI so, she has to be cool..Yeah, she's awesome, her "Back up" bass is a White Rickenbacker 4003.

I bought Belly's "King" album and Pulp's "Different Class" album on my trip to Barcelona back in 2004.
Both of those albums are still in regular rotation
so many cool boutique amp builders...ever hear of Paul Cornford? his stuff just, sings...Only because Garnet Gillies lived and built his amp empire on the frozen tundra of Manitoba...
Garnet amps were well priced back in the 70s and early 80s and were appreciated by musicians (especially locals such as the Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive). Now Randy Bachman has bought up all the old ones driving prices through the roof.

Don't know him. But Garnet (Garnet Gillies) and Traynor (Pete Traynor) were big brands (in Canada anyway) and produced a lot of gear. Not really boutique, but not 7ender/Ampeg either. Both brands are still around, but diminished from their hey day of the late 70s early 80s.so many cool boutique amp builders...ever hear of Paul Cornford? his stuff just, sings...

Tell you what, I'll let mine go for half that. Anxiously awaiting all those PMs.was looking at some Bird pricing online and this came up......does the rarity of that white and the fact it’s not just a Bicen but a 76 warrant such a price?
don’t know why the link says natural..

Aguilar is probably the best solid state (output stage) bass amp money can buy today imhoI periodically ask some pretty 'away from center' questions but that is because I don't know and would like to know others experience, Ior is it just that weird??? I asked on fb but not all of you are in that group. Some won't answer because it just wouldn't cross their minds etc.
Here goes:
Have any of you ever plugged into an Aguilar Amp? What did you find? Good tone or bad? to warm? To clean?
They are considered by many to be great amps/cabs and many high quality players use them but many high quality players use all sorts of brands. I've dug up you tube and only found one video of a guy with a Mike Lull bird and his tone was quite good. I'm not considering changing anything I have but I haven't been using my GK gear at all and have been thinking of selling it. if I found a good home. Anyway What you say guys? what are your experiences with that combination???

Way back in the days of "The Dudepit" I remember Uwe ( Gibson Bass Book fame) saying he had one of those, and he said that the pickups were a lacking overall. Not at all like anything from the '60s-'70s.
