That did it, now I'm really really homesick:(

And more than the LA area will get in the next century.

Not an insignificant part of the reason I chose to move to Sacramento. If I ever get the feelings of missing winter in the mountains, I just need to drive about an hour or so due easterly...

I'll turn the bed down in the spare room where you can stay while looking for a place. Bring a bass or two if you don't mind! Bring your clubs as well. You'll have to go solo there as I don't know a thing about golf. I do have about 5 donated golf balls ready for you.

First accumulating snow. We only got an inch, but a couple of miles west there was 4" on the ground.

My usual skiing destination as of a couple of minutes ago.

And no one skiing as the government decided that... Well I don;t know what they were thinking, but they closed skiing.

Outside the front door, no snow.

Nice! Our favorite for decades has been Heavenly, 90 mins east of Sacto. They’re open with COVID measures in place. Don’t think we’re going this year and didn’t last year; we usually go for a week in March. But we’ve been talking about planning the ‘22 trip now.

Completely understandable. A use of gravity (controlled fall) down a mountain is far more dangerous other things. Just looking out for those who want to challenge Newtonian physics.
