Earlier this morning, I put a bass up for trade in our locals and was offered a Vintage Pro...

I never tried those, so sound-wise, how different are they from the models I'm familiar with (current bolt-on model and past-owned Epi Classic Pro IV and Gibson 2008 Birds) ? I'm looking for something I can use live with the current band, which is 80s cover (Bon Jovi, Loverboy, Jouney, The Cult, AC/DC).

Wow! That's really terrible. I'm sorry you got stuck with such a beat-up monstrosity.
Not.
Congrats.

It's such a burden :sour: ....I suppose I'll manage to trudge on :dead: .... but I may have to get a red pickguard to help me through such a trying experience

edit: ....and definitely red strings  . They're already on the way...:smug:

Just a quick listing of my van history. All of which were purchased for the purpose of hauling my THUNDERBIRD, amps and PA gear(which, like the vans, has gotten progressively smaller/lighter)and were still able to carry 1 to 3 other people to gigs. 69 Ford Econoline, ??Dodge Maxi-Van, 75 ChevyVan,, 78 Econoline, 85 Astro, 95 Safari, 96 Aerostar, 2019 Transit Connect(actually white). The THUNDERBIRD fits in between the middle seats and the back door with an amp-or 2-on one side and duffel, mic stand, music stand, etc. on the other.

Just do it!

I use mine for all that stuff, no probs! Sound wise it's different from any of your previous, but you won't be disappointed.

Every Thunderbird player should have a Vintage Pro. Best $700 bass on the planet.

Our respective bands probably have a few things in common setlist-wise, so your answer's not surprising, I shoulda seen it coming :)...

Indeed, it has tons of fans, at least under that name. Wonder if the new 60s Classic will catch on ?

I use the VP for all of those tunes..a great choice.

!!!News Flash!!!
Seismologists in Southern California are baffled by an odd new earthquake swarm in the Greater Los Angeles area. Experts agree it seems to have a bizarre 4/4 timing and lasts for several minutes at a time. Home owners in one neighborhood claim the rumbler is rearranging everything in their houses that isn't nailed down. Witnesses said the shaking started shortly after a UPS truck left the area.

In a possibly related incident, Southern California Edison is looking into strange massive power draws seemingly coming from a single home that has a Phellam Blue mail box out front with a Thunderbird logo and the initials MCF. Rewards are being offered for any information leading to the capture of any individual damaging the integrity of the SoCal power grid.
We heard about that back East as well. Calling it the Mesa Quake. Something about brownouts to follow on regular intervals for the foreseeable future. According to the news, anyway. Who knows since a weather meteorologist and journalist contributed to the story.

No brainer! Having both, I would say it's as close as you can get to a '60s version tone and looks without serious money--really close. I liked one so much a bought two! It will sound different, but in a very good way.
