I love the way you play that. You’re an inspiration for me to work hard to get better. Thanks for posting this.
Hey man! sorry, didn't see this before. Thanks for your words, I'm flattered. Keep playing!

No brainer! Having both, I would say it's as close as you can get to a '60s version tone and looks without serious money--really close. I liked one so much a bought two! It will sound different, but in a very good way.

Yep. A bit more vintage grit and growl. Not muddy at all. The tone is very pleasant, in a mesmerizing sort of way. It’s addictive. No brainer! Offer him some Jamisons. Give your guitar a good once over. The guy lives close to my home, he's probably coming over tonight for tryouts.
That black Gibson TRC on the cream headstock...gorgeous.
It's like the R and NR are high-fiving.
Not sure what you're trading on your end but a used VP in mint condition goes for around $500 or more. They're easily worth much more than that IMHO.Earlier this morning, I put a bass up for trade in our locals and was offered a Vintage Pro...
I never tried those, so sound-wise, how different are they from the models I'm familiar with (current bolt-on model and past-owned Epi Classic Pro IV and Gibson 2008 Birds) ? I'm looking for something I can use live with the current band, which is 80s cover (Bon Jovi, Loverboy, Jouney, The Cult, AC/DC).

The other birds you've owned will sound a bit mellow or a tad warmer by compairson. The VP has a more agressive sound and comes a bit more forward in the mix. Should be perfect for the kind of music you listed. From a quality standpoint the VP is top notch. I don't think any TBird collection would be whole without one.
The only thing to check is if the E string intonated correctly, if so you're good to go.

As long as you are inside by 8pm...The guy lives close to my home, he's probably coming over tonight for tryouts.

Jamison's ...Jack.... Jimmy.... Johnny.... would make for a fun band. The guy came over earlier with the Pro, which I liked a lot, but he's not sure about mine, not comfortable with the neck.
I'm putting a coffee sunburst Yamaha BB734A on the trading block. It's a relatively recent purchase to which I added a hardcase and a Hipshot XTender. Sounds, plays and looks great, just not connecting with it. Wanna see what I can get in a trade, I'll loose too much by selling it. Would prefer an active bass, but not a must. I'm not keen on a purchase, had to get a new washer-dryer combo 2 weeks after XMAS....![]()

I hope you have better luck on the new front load washer than I have. Over the last 30 years we've had three, all different brands all premium models - and every single one of them developed a mold in the gasket problem. I'm deathly allergic to mold so we finally went back to a top loader a few years ago, no more problems. If you find one that works keep us posted, my daughter may need to buy one in the next year or so and the front loaders are a neat design, especially for a shorter person.I agree with the others regarding the trade. if he is up for it and you like it, do the deal.
I had to do the same at the new house. Front loader washer at the new house was ummm........un-hygienic. Got a good deal on a nice (non-frontloader) set. I'm bleeding money over here and not on Thunderbirds.![]()
Yeah you have to leave the door open on a front loader (when you’re not using itI agree with the others regarding the trade. if he is up for it and you like it, do the deal.

That’s why I’d rather not have to have a car. More money for Thunderbirds.Yeah you have to leave the door open on a front loader (when you’re not using it) or it can get mouldy/gross.
Tbirds are great, but when other stuff breaks...
