Thunderbird Club

It's a Roland Juno88DS, which is waaaaaay above my league, it's like I'm in A ball to its MLB caliber. I started playing keys 3 years ago, took a few lessons and worked out stuff from there with tons of practice. This thing can do pianos, organs, synths and other stuff I don't use like winds, brass, orchestra, drums'n percs and world instruments. It also has a sequencer, which I only tried once or twice. It' a good jack-of-all-trades KB for me, most patches sounds absolutely fantastic. Pianos patches are good enough (I felt the Yamaha MX88's piano sounds were better), but I like the organ sounds I can get out of it, especially the rockier stuff.
Thanks Mike!

Never seen a P like that before. Is it all original ?
Yes, it's 100% original. The P bass Plus was a short lived feature packed Fender Precision bass. They increased the neck to 22 frets, lengthened the upper horn for better balance, put more cutaway in the lower bout for better fret access, installed Lace Sensor pickups, used a unique Schaller bridge with fine tuning knobs to easily tune down to the cent, put in a neck/both/bridge pup toggle, installed a series/parallel push button for the split P pup, and TBX tone pot with center detent, then finished it all off with some unique bursts and colors.

I dont know how many they made in this color (Black Pearl Burst) but I've never seen another one. It was about a two or three year run that also included some active models, mine is the earlier passive one.

I personally think it's their best sounding, best built and most feature packed P bass. If you like P basses and come across a clean used one grab it!

Here's some info on the model...

Not a fan of centre-detent, just when you need that last smidge of adjustment, the centre-detent pulls it past the point you wanted to ... centre. Other than that, it's a cool 7endurr.

Not a fan of Peach Schnapps, never understood the appeal — but other schnapps I like just fine, on ocassion, if single-malt Scotch has run out.

BIG fan of non-reverse Birds of Play a few pages back, wish the thread had more of 'em in it. Of course, Jaguars are cool for this cat, too.

Sorry, not a 'Bird nor Jag (obviously) in the vid.

Turned into a bummer of a day. My assistant's husband died today of COVID after a couple weeks on a vent. He was only 70 and in relatively good health other than his diabetes, which was under control. He was a great guy and also good friend. His was a life well lived with few regrets. A couple here would have had a bond with his serving on a carrier (Enterprise I think), and he reached a master level in his model railroad club. Not long ago he made a replica of the ship he served on in the early '70s. I was impressed, as always by those who can make such things look so real. I mention all this as a reminder for everyone to be wise and careful, but not scared. Unfortunately it seems his contact situation could have been avoided. Small/family gatherings have caused every case I personally know of, so please be careful.

Condolences. It is a good time for everyone to do everything they can to be healthier.

That is so sad. Yeah, not seeing my parents in a year now is really hard. But we’re not risking it.

I'm 69 with COPD and a Cancer Survivor. And not doing a lot, but still seeing some family at rare instances. But when we do, no hugging, and trying to stay a little distance between.

Did the Christmas thing at my daughters and all 3 grandsons were there. 2 days later, my eldest grandson felt ill with fever and etc. He tested positive. We all quarantined and started doubling up on vitamins and stuff (can't say anymore as that is not allowed). No one in the family got anything. The Grandson was fine in a couple of days. Tested negative the next week.

So stay healthy, and remember the love of family and friends can improve our health also.

Thank you both. That's not at all why I mentioned it, but it's appreciated.

Condolances.
Sad reminder that we still have to fight this and keep on protecting ourselves and our loved ones.

Sincere condolences Dagrev. I agree completely with the sentiments expressed that we all need to be very careful and take care.
