A pool in this area is a negative for property values, maintenance, and besides, it would get used about twice a year. Unless this global warming thing finally turns Seattle into the tropical paradise I keep waiting for. Enough ocean level rise and we have beach front property! No need for a pool then. I might have to relocate the Thunderbirds out of the basement music room if that happens, though.

Nice!

I have the same cracking around my 24 year old pool. It’s gotten to the point we’ll need to do something about it.
Ya. It’s been nearly 16 years we’ve been here, and they haven’t worsened, so I’ll continue to not do anything. :roflmao:
same here, thought it may have been seismic..

The key is to fill the crack with an epoxy or an expanding UV stable rubberized caulking. Cracks in concrete are gonna happen over time but they usually won't get catastrophic if you can keep them sealed. Water undercutting the dirt below the slab and moisture in a freeze thaw environment are the real killers for concrete. Seal it and you'll probably be good to go for another 20+ years.

Good to know. Wish I knew you ten years ago.

Well, It's not even Thursday here and I had the best week of my life so far. (I'm sorry for going off topic here but bear with me.)

For years I always wanted a Fiesta Red Stratocaster but they are difficult to obtain, certainly with the lockdown going on. But one chance glance at Facebook, gave me to opportunity to finally get myself one.

But the day before I made the score on that instrument, my personal life made a turn for the far better.

In 1994, a girl came into my class at my senior year of high school.

We bonded, fell in love and had very romantic but alas very brief relationship because of us both attending different colleges after we graduated and back then there was no cell phones, no MySpace, no Facebook. She back then broke it off because it being a too heavy load. I last saw her in person in 1996 when we ran into each other. But in general we completely disappeared from each other's lives.

In the years that followed, I had some flings here and there, a couple of girlfriends, but none of it was just so REAL as it was with her.

Now this Monday something amazing happened. She showed up at my house, turns out that she undergoes physical therapy in a nearby town to where I live and wondered if the address I gave her back then was still valid. I was completely blown away when I saw her 25 years after our final face-to-face encounter. And straight away, all the old feelings were back, as it was just a week since we last saw each other. One remark of hers was "Why did we ever split up?"

I told her back then that I could see us be married someday, but gave up on that dream after we lost sight of each other. The funny thing is that over the years people had been telling me "She'll return!" and "Trust me, you will see her again." and all that time I went "Yeah, sure, we'll see.."

And there she is.

All of a sudden that vision of me having her as my wife doesn't seem to be so farfetched anymore.

I'm shedding tears from being so happy.
That’s great man! Good things do happen to good people. Don’t let her go again!
