2011 Gibson short scale. Limited run of 400. All of them came in matte black. Prior owner had it refinished in Silverburst by a pro. Very ballsy lows; look at how close the PUP is to the neck. They’re rare, but if you like shortys, well worth snatching one up if you ever see one available.Nice!
Short scale? What exactly is it?
Lol....kids sure got it good these days...all I could have gotten out of my dad would have been a mandolin....perhaps an accordion...He’s got a Les Paul Studio but prefers the neck on his American Stratocaster.
You are going to anyway...Does this mean the rest of us can?
Cool. Would have had to been pre mid 70s.
up until 2012 there were only the 60’s NRs not counting the Eppis of course...must be a different NR. Cliff W used his on the Back in Black offical film clips, and I guess that tour.

Here's one of my Thunderbirds being thunderous while my oldest son, Dominic(19) plays it with his band, Legacy Drive. My youngest son, David(15) is on drums and the band is rounded out with Brock(17) on rhythm guitar and Darren(15) on lead guitar. Wait till you hear Darren absolutely shred the Rhoads' solo. Too dang good.
They're practicing for their first gig scheduled on March 27th and are the opening band for a 3 band lineup featuring Prowess from North Carolina.
So, rock isn't dead! Good stuff.![]()
We'll see you back in a coupla days/weeks. Wear a mask to catch theLook what came in the mail!

.GOOD!!Trust me, they are anomalies for their age group.
Darren has been playing guitar for four years in his room for hours and hours at a time and we happen to find him when my son David put an ad in craigslist looking for other musicians his age to play rock and metal with. Neither one, my son who placed the ad nor Darren who decided to have a look at craigslist thought there was a snowball’s chance in hell that they would find another musician their age to play those genres of music.
It was meant to be.
That's fantastic. Even though it's not nearly as common these days, it's always great to be reminded that they're out there. Our drummer is 19. He's nice, smart, reliable, talented, enthusiastic, and doesn't care that we're a lot older. And we don't care that he's a lot younger.Trust me, they are anomalies for their age group.

There's a 14 y/o guitarist that plays at the open mic/jam on Mondays. He improves each time I hear him. He does, however, need to learn that he doesn't always hafta be LOUD. Next time I play there I gots to remember to not be directly in front of his amp(I don't set up the stage). That's fantastic. That's what I was told, humbuckers, alnico V magnets, 60s spec.@godofthunder59 posted a few weeks back that his source says they’ll have a “vintage” wind. Here’s hoping!
Ah the Dude Pit, the wild wild west of bass forums. I met many a great person there, including our Queen. It was sure fun while it lasted.Quite the opposite, I drove that car into work today, it's celebrating being 22 years old this year, 262,000 miles - it's old, kinda ugly, slow and a brick $%#@&^*!@ of a car - I love it!
Way back when I first got into online bass forums I would hang out at "The Dudepit" (I know, sounds gay) and that's where I first met Scott @godofthunder59 , George @69Vette and of course Uwe Hornung. As I learned how to post pics I decided to always include the Subie in the shots as a bit of trademark, kind of like a builder's photo, there were many photos over the years and it got to be a silly fun thing. Sadly, almost all of those photos were lost into the mess that PhotoBucket became and I can't retrieve them easily. About 5-6 years ago Uwe and his wife vacationed on the west coast and spent 3 days here in Seattle, we had a couple dinners and he visited the house as well, at one point after a dinner we took a shot standing in front of the old Subie and he said" I can't believe I'm standing next to your famous car" which just made me bust laughing.
Happy Thursday and onward to better days!
