Normally I'm not a fan of Strats, but Gilmour can play whatever he wants and he'll still be one of my absolute favorite guitarists.

I don't mind Strats(to look at-I don't play guitar), but I [strongly dislike] the look of Tele headstocks. I know, shallow. Don't care.

Always been a huge PF fan. IMHO no one puts as much expression in a single note on a guitar as Gilmour does. Beckham wishes he could bend it like Gilmour.
Everyone should have a DVD copy of the Gilmour Royal Albert Hall Concert in their collection.

I just wanted to give them music when they were young so they'd have it for their entire lives. Started all my kids taking lessons in the same year when they were 5, 7 and 9. Ten years later, my boys are still playing but my daughter's piano went silent about 2 years ago. I offered to get her lessons on any instrument of her choosing but she moved herself to clarinet and taught herself how to play so she could be in Marching Band. So she still has music in her life and that's a good thing.

BTW, the kids have carte blanche to play any day, any time and as long as they want. I love having live music in our home.

Smiled when I saw this, I can't stand those small Tele heads either and often wisecrack my brother when he pulls his black MIM Tele out. I do like the larger Strat-style heads on the Deluxe models tho,but I'm not sure they are well-like by most Tele players. Whatever, right ? Keef and countless others made careers and millions playing either models, so it's all good.

Lol....kids sure got it good these days...all I could have gotten out of my dad would have been a mandolin....perhaps an accordion...

Trust me, they are anomalies for their age group.

Darren has been playing guitar for four years in his room for hours and hours at a time and we happen to find him when my son David put an ad in craigslist looking for other musicians his age to play rock and metal with. Neither one, my son who placed the ad nor Darren who decided to have a look at craigslist thought there was a snowball’s chance in hell that they would find another musician their age to play those genres of music.

It was meant to be.

It’s a lot of fun helping kids get a band rolling. Time to pass on some knowledge!

David Gilmour said he liked Stratocasters because they “look famous”. I feel the same way about Thunderbirds- especially white birds.

Agreed, white is my favorite color for a Thunderbird. Let's them see you all the way from the back row!
The Epi continues to impress me.
That Epiphone can deliver this level of build quality, hardware, pickups, and neck-thru construction for under $1k is amazing.

Is that Heather Mist Metallic? I don't remember seeing that before, have any more photos in better lighting?
