Thunderbird Club

Is that Heather Mist Metallic? I don't remember seeing that before, have any more photos in better lighting?
It's officially Burgundy Mist Metallic, but that's the Fender name for Heather Mist Metallic. So, yeah, it is. I have put up pictures of it before, but they tend to get buried here if you blink. It is a '91 that I got refinished. The new finish went right over the dents and dings, so it is hardly a pristine looking bass. I kinda like it that way, but it will look a bit odd until the finish starts to wear enough to make the finish match the dings.

Keep reminding me to take better pictures. It may happen someday. Everything down here in the basement is green and a bit dim. It's not an ideal photo studio.

Maybe someday there will even be pictures of it in action. It's a little hard to imagine right now.

That's fantastic. Even though it's not nearly as common these days, it's always great to be reminded that they're out there. Our drummer is 19. He's nice, smart, reliable, talented, enthusiastic, and doesn't care that we're a lot older. And we don't care that he's a lot younger.

I’m training my next drummer now..I’m not even worried about the 61 year age difference..he WILL be playing Led Zeppelin,Van Halen and Motley Crue..He’s having a little trouble reaching the peddles though..My daughter and her husband are his manager :)

So cool to see us working with the next generation, I'm such a sucker for that kind family stuff. My now 26 yo daughter asked me to give her guitar lessons 8 years ago and she been playing and singing since. I also have a 12 yo nephew taking drum lessons since January and he called after Monday's lesson: his 22 yo teacher gave him Coldplay's Yellow to learn, hist 1st real song, and if he was wondering if I knew it and would come down to practice with him this weekend. Touches me no end when I see happening stuff like dat. I'll try to remember to get a pic of that session...

I started playing pro at 15 with my HS music teacher who had to sign a disclaimer form and put me down under his Musician’s Union card number....2 to 3 gigs a week (I was a junior) pulling about 160 to 180 bucks a week in late 70’s FL....awesome times....
Beat working at McDonalds. Sounds like he was a great teacher.

My son did things like that when he was in high school. I would have to take him to the gig, since he wasn't old enough for a license yet, and then wait for him. I saw a number of shows because he was playing. Mostly, bands don't need a trumpet player. I guess it was good experiences, since he's still playing and will be back to making a living at it when the world opens up again. And he's teaching piano and trumpet now. Maybe trombone. He also plays some drums, a little bass, and even less guitar, but he does have an inkling of how to. There's hope for music to continue on after we are all gone.

And yeah, I'm boasting about the kid. But you all already know I do that.

Yeah. Back when the Union had some clout.

He looks VERY excited to be sitting behind the drums

Well, the Effects group isn't very helpful... if anyone here has a Nano Pog, could you measure width and length for me? All I can find online is shipping box dimensions. I need to upsize my Pedalboard and am trying to figure out if I can go with a Pedaltrain Jr Max
Does this help? I did an image search and it looks to be about the same size as an MXR pedal.
