DUDE! LAWSUIT!
how did that sound/play?
I'd love any of his basses, even his '62 Jazz. Maybe we could pool our resources and then share custody! OK reality check--maybe we could afford one of his old strings. That's my holy grail bass. If I could have any one bass, and only that one bass, this would be it.
Correct! Not sure how many Leon had or if it was just the one. If I ever knew about more...I don't now due to fewer grey cells. The 7enderbird was a gift from JAE to Leon.
Cool. Would have had to been pre mid 70s.I have read an article somewhere that mentioned that Cliff W gifted his Thunderbird to Leon W.
how did that sound/play?
IDK. Looks like a Subaru you no longer own.

Funny one note story. I was doing some work in a studio a long time ago and there was one part of the song that required a D in an somewhat odd place after a playback. When they wanted to add it I did it fine. Then they said now the tape is rolling. It took I don't know how many takes to get that one note in. The more I tried the weirder it seem to get. With everybody standing in the control room on the other side of the glass watching, waiting for me to play this one note. I think if everybody would've left I would've done it again the first time! When you have one note to hit you better get it right![]()
same with their electrical distribution and telegraph..Aussie/British steam looks 'weird' to us 'mericans, mostly because the "plumbing" is concealed, whereas most American steam engines have their 'guts' hanging out on full display. That said, 3801 is way cool!
but I just made the payment for a new-notreallybuttomeitis T-bird.

Quite the opposite, I drove that car into work today, it's celebrating being 22 years old this year, 262,000 miles - it's old, kinda ugly, slow and a brick $%#@&^*!@ of a car - I love it!
Way back when I first got into online bass forums I would hang out at "The Dudepit" (I know, sounds gay) and that's where I first met Scott @godofthunder59 , George @69Vette and of course Uwe Hornung. As I learned how to post pics I decided to always include the Subie in the shots as a bit of trademark, kind of like a builder's photo, there were many photos over the years and it got to be a silly fun thing. Sadly, almost all of those photos were lost into the mess that PhotoBucket became and I can't retrieve them easily. About 5-6 years ago Uwe and his wife vacationed on the west coast and spent 3 days here in Seattle, we had a couple dinners and he visited the house as well, at one point after a dinner we took a shot standing in front of the old Subie and he said" I can't believe I'm standing next to your famous car" which just made me bust laughing.
Happy Thursday and onward to better days!

LOL - I had to read that word smash up about a half dozen times before I got it. I kept seeing "new - not really butt omeitis". Scratching my head and thinking what the heck is "Butt Omeitis"? Sounds like a nasty medical condition and just too much information for a public forum. Then I had my coffee and realized it's "but to me it is". Thanks for the morning laugh Kara.No new pics for this Thunderbird Thursday, but I just made the payment for a new-notreallybuttomeitis T-bird.
Should have it for next week's TT!
(now I just have to land one of these fish that's interested in my extra/twin Epiphone bolt-on......)
