Thunderbird Club

:laugh:LOL - I don't buy basses from over seas sellers for this very reason. Who knows if it would ever make it through customs, or if it would survive the journey unscathed. I'd assume $95 to ship something half way around the world is going to involve some pretty sketchy shipping methods. And your recourse should something go wrong, is???

There's a reason it's still listed on reverb and not on its way to my house. ;)
For the price he's asking, I would look for a VP and get it refinished. But, I will say that if it's like the 2001, it will have a bit of magic to it that's hard to describe.

Yeah, I'm not sure Reverb would back you up on that. And IDK if their "ship through Reverb" works from Mother Russia.

Oh man...gets better...anyone remember Gauss? can’t wait for Friday’s jam..

You don't trust Sergei's international shipping to get it to Alexei's world wide shipping in Ukraine, who pass it to Ahmed's global shipping in Iran who pass it to Mohammed's intercontinental express in Morocco who pass it to Paddy's transcontinental shipping in Dublin who get it to Boston where JoeBag O'Donuts national cargo shipping will put it in USPS to the final destination?

don’t forget that if it comes through Canada, Jeanno at Service Aeropostale Enculé in Montreal will ship direct...

Ahh the old "floating bass head & cab" trick.

I know how it's done, there's a roadie behind the curtain with a hooked pole... You just can't see the pole from the audience's (camera's) angle. Also explains why there's not an 8x10, too heavy!

I had a bass scoop with a Gauss speaker in it a while ago. I ended up selling the speaker to a guy who wanted to build a guitar cabinet around it and the bass scoop to a guy who wanted to use it as a test bed for different drivers. It was not an ideal noise making device, but it was impressively big with a 410 and ACC 370 sitting on top of it. All of those are long gone now, and not especially missed.

I know it's not Thunderbird Thursday (yet), but I was trying to get a pic I liked of my two newest 'birds with the oldest one, and ended up trying to improve my picture-taking with the black light (not much progress there :rollno: ), and decided to share some of that time-sink :meh:

I also found out something interesting (to me, probably no-one else...) by accident :wideyed:
