Thunderbird Club

I just finished a phone call with the most wonderful lady on earth and I feel like singing a song, THIS song.

Something's gotten hold of my heart
Keeping my soul and my senses apart
Something's gotten into my life
Cutting it's way through my dreams like a knife
Turning me up, and turning me down
Making me smile, and making me frown

In a world that was war
I once lived in a time that was peace and no troubles at all
But then you came my way
And a feeling of unknown shook my heart,
made me want you to stay
All of my nights, and all of my days

(yeah I gotta tell you now)
Something's gotten hold of my hand
Dragging my soul to a beautiful land
Yeah, something has invaded my night
Painting my sleep with a colour so bright
Changing the grey, and changing the blue
Scarlet for me, and scarlet for you

I got to know if this is the real thing
I got to know it's making my heart sing
Wo-hoo-o-ye-e-e-e-e e-
You smile and I am lost for a lifetime
Each minute spent with you is the right time
Every hour, every day
You touch me and my mind goes astray, yeah
Baby, baby

Something's gotten hold of my hand
Dragging my soul to a beautiful land
Something has invaded my night
Painting my sleep with a colour so bright
Changing the grey, and changing the blue
Scarlet for me, and scarlet for you

:( Can't/won't play.

The brown truck brought something fun today. It popped up on GC's site the other day and I couldn't pass it up. It was a total of $342 shipped with the fitted Epi case. I had a $50 gift card so I actually paid $292 for it. It is need of a proper cleaning and the strings are beyond dead but those things are easily remedied. Has a few scratches on the back but still in great overall condition. Well worth the price of admission.

Love it! That is a great price for one of those. As I’ve waxed on about for a long time now, the Limited Editions are great Thunderbirds for the price.

Beautiful!
Once I saw how sweet Kara's Ruby Red Eppi bird looked I pretty much decided I'd go that route (at least that color) with my next bird purchase. For the last couple of weeks I've been searching everywhere for a red bird, even GC daily. I never saw that one pop up. Glad it went to a good home. If you see any more red Eppi birds be sure to flag me, I'm still in the hunt.

I'm impressed with how nice the finish is on this one. I had never seen one of the red models in person before and I was not disappointed. If I see another I will give you a heads up!

My Zep tribute so the Jazz got most of the playing time. We open with a set of Bad Company that gets the fretless Precision, in the Bad Co set are some Free songs so sneak the bird in there. While I miss my bird horribly I really like (maybe even love)my Roadworn Jazz, first Jazz Bass I ever warmed up to.

Only Jazz I've ever gotten on with is my AVRI '62, but it's had some serious mods, namely a clone of a hagstrom bi-sonic in the neck position, and wiring for stereo outputs with stacked knobs. A stock Jazz just isn't my bag.

Honestly, imo, the pictures don't really do the color justice. At least my pics.....:(

I tried to get a couple of pics that show how nice the finish is, but it isn't a good representation. It's really quite nice.

I removed the strings and they were the dirtiest strings I have ever personally seen on a bass. I wiped it down and put an old set of unknown (I think Ernie Ball but not sure) round wounds on it. Definitely gave it more life. It sounds good and its different from my other Birds so adds a new sound to the arsenal. I will give it a real cleaning and install new strings (Probably the SIT Power Steel set since the bass seems to have a darker sound) and give it a real test. I think I will be happy with this one. :bassist:

That model has been a big success for Fender - I played one and they are nice.

I love my RW Precision enough to think about trying a RW Jazz. Normally I dislike Jazz Basses almost completely. But never say never.

Rainy crappy day here and I'm stuck at work until 5, ugh!
From Friday before going out to dinner.
Frank and I are going in to set up a home equity line of credit on Thursday, aprt of the reason for doing this is that the house is going to need a new (metal) roof this year, it's quite likely that we'll find the money for a vintage Thunderbird somewhere in all of this as well......

Could Jackie do a few before totally hanging it up?
And is that a Hustler by your left ear?
