Thunderbird Club

If you don't have as part of your day, you may not quite get it, but I often get to see the Sun rise above the Cascade mountains in the east and watch it set beyond the Olympics to the west. This time of year they're both covered in snow, very beautiful - the weather's been really nice here over the past week so it's been quite noticeable.
Sunrise over the Atlantic ain't bad. 'Course I'm never up early enuff for that. Used to see getting home once in awhile though.;);)

Nice.

I'm sure it'll sell, but wonder what the final bid will be. Seems like just a couple of years ago you could pick those up for about $1200 give or take a hundred. Lately most of the ones I've seen listed are asking closer to $2000 (not sure what price they're selling at though).

With the brand new NR coming out in a few months at around $1800 I kinda wonder if the market is going to soften a bit on the 2013 model.
I bought mine for $850 shipped with the original case and a NR gig bag thrown in..

before or after the tip, or lack thereoff? ...:D..
I've been to Canada a few times and dined out but don't recall, is tipping in Canada out of the norm like it is in many countries around the globe?

Funny tipping story...
About 15 years ago I was with a group of about 10 people and we went to a swank restaurant in Cincinnati for dinner. When it came time to pay I told the waiter to just put it all on one bill and I'd pick up the tab. He did. The service was pretty good considering the size of the group and the complexity involved, so I threw in a 30 percent tip and handed him my credit card (the bill with tip was over $3000).

When I got home that night I took a closer look at the breakdown on the bill and realized the restaurant had automatically put a 20% tip on the bill due to the size of our party (not uncommon), I stupidly just looked at the bottom line and tipped an additional 30%. That was one Happy waiter I'm sure.

The following week I went back to the same restaurant. The waiter spotted me and told the hostess to seat us at one of his tables. He remembered my name and again gave us great service. He ended up with a 20% tip this time and no auto tip built into the bill. I suspect he wasn't as happy.

Tipping is customary here. Most servers depend on the extra money AFAIK.

I still do 15% and as far as I can tell, that's pretty much the way it goes where I would hang out. I'll give a little more sometimes if I feel I got really good service. I recall only once in my life not tipping at all, but the bastard had it coming. The way I see it, the waiter is part of a chain and if something goes wrong, he's still accountable to the client, but it might not be his personal fault. Heck, $hit happens, might even be nobody's fault.

Leon Wilkerson/Lynrd Skynrd bass tone: let's see if I got this straight. Lynrd Skynrd's first album is Ed King, on a Fender J? Second Helping is Leon on a Thunderbird (liner notes say Firebird bass). Nothin' Fancy is Leon on old style Fender Precision (as per liner notes and photo's).

For me, Skynrd came out of nowhere, I was in basic training/technical school '72-'73, '73 in Thailand at the end of the war, and stationed in England '74-'76. I had never heard of them before I enlisted, nor during the next 4 years. When I got out, there they were, but I knew nothing about them, so I'm behind the learning curve here. Definitely in my Top 5 bands of all time....
