Thunderbird Club

They are used to my lack of talent so they will be happy to have someone else playing them.

Door is always open to any of you that make it to AZ for a visit.

So kind of you. I certainly hope to get out here one day. I ever do, I certainly hope to meet in person.

I had my shot at an Andy meet-up back in 2016. Hard to believe that it's been 5 years already since I drove through Chandler... anyway, I didn't have the heart to drop in with the whole family; wife and 3 kids ages, 10, 12 and 14. As I was cutting a track through Arizona, I saw the sign for Chandler and posted about it on Facebook for Andy to see. It was cool knowing that he was there but I had to keep moving. Maybe the next time it'll just be me and the wife and a dinner and drinks out can be shared.

Yep. That's why there's two pretty different Floridas.
Yep, growing up there, one moment we’d be out in the Glades gator fishing the next drinking Seabreezes at the Breakers or Epicurean watching the Kennrdys do the same.....awesome times...interesting how little one appreciates things when one has no frame of reference...

We took a little trip out to Ft. Flagler on Marrowstone Is. last week, pretty cool place, here's a gun battery that dates to the late 1890's, it was manned through WWII. Also of note quite a bit of "Officer an Gentleman was filmed nearby in Pt Townsend.

We have a number of these here in the Bay Area - ex-Nike missile sites/silo's also.

Lol! I so loved my Beast of Burden. Had mine for about 4 years in the late 70s -early 80s. We had many a good gig. Best one was an outdoor party where the cops broke it up and tried to confiscate it. The couldn’t fit it in the back seat nor the trunk of their cruiser. Obviously, they were non-musicians. They were pissed. We ended up just getting cited. :roflmao:
Great story!

The guns from the battery were removed when the post was deactivated in '46, the present one are accurate for one of the two pits, they were brought home from the Philippine Islands in the '60s.

Yours truly, it was rather cold and windy that day.

Pacific North Wet cold and windy? Who'da figgered?

It's all relative, having lived all my life here I'm quite accustomed to it, excessive humidity coupled with heat (like I encountered in Dallas, TX) make the Queen wilt

They weren’t big here, at least not in my age group.
Never really heard anything Apart from Sweet Home Alabama, which was everywhere, and the plane crash made the news.
I never really paid attention to LS until about 2005 when I was playing with someone that turned me onto the Allman Brothers. I remember thinking I should check some more Southern Rock. As with many other groups the first 4-5 albums are my favourites. It turned out I had heard much more than SHA and Freebird, I just didn’t know it.
On the surface LS seems like they might be very “redneck”, but check out the lyrics to the Ballad of Curtis Loewe and Saturday Night Special.

So there's 5 studio albums (original lineup)?

They were popular on the coast and we played a couple songs; I remember SWA. Their image turned me off though.
