I have a couple of triple stands like that. They are ok with 3 basses, but a little sketchy with 1 or 2.

I have no experience with the double or triple models but my single works great for my Thunderbirds.

I know the 106 cab is a 2x15 ported plywood box with square magnet CTS speakers. I sold mine to a hipster kid.

I've got a 106, loaded with a pair of EV-L drivers.
Sounds really good...

Yup! I'm planning to build a short scale NR. I'll be bugging you NR owners for measurements. I'm pretty sure I have a pic with dimensions, but I'm not sure how accurate it is.

This is all I use, I would go with the "AGS" type and at least get a double which will be essentially the same as hanging them on the wall in regards to the all important gravity factor:

Well it was 70's gear.
I went to a band practice at a rehearsal space the other day. It was one trip from the car with a 27lb 210AV cab in one hand, my Eagle in a gigbag on my shoulder, and D800+ in its bag with cords in the other hand. Could have brought my MB200 for even less weight

When I tried Roto 77s on mine, the 105 used all the travel in the saddle, and needed more - the DR 105 on there now has a bit of room to spare

I thought for a minute (maybe more ) about trying a B-string on it, but both the 130 from a Roto set and 125 from a DR set were too big for the "claw"

Yeah, Roto 66s, too (about to come off in favor of EBCFs)

Hey Buddy, GREAT Idea
The FIRST thing I did with mine was replace those "Anemic" PU's
For one thing they are 4 banger PU's trying to cover a 5, apparently an old "Gibby Trick" (they might not sound bad on 4 banger like they were intended!!) Then I removed the pre and replaced it with a standard passive Gibby harness & pots, never looked back and have been VERY happy with the results!! Going into this I knew I would have to change some things but the neck through maple and walnut lams are worth the price of admission!!
I HIGHLY recommend you try something similar, as I said, the Pro V is worthy of the effort
May I recommend SD's for the PU'S
Oh and BTW I think they used some kind of metal nut if I remember correctly
(and that's a BIG IF)
SO I replaced that with a Graph Tek nut...Go For It

Mine had a brass (I think, definitely metal, and never glued on) nut, and what I suspect were 4 string pickups. Apparently some had 4s and some had 5s. The bridge was installed horribly from the factory (I bought used, but it was clearly a factory issue). Some people had them pretty perfect right out of the box. Just overall pathetic QC on those.

Hello everyone.
I am getting my Thunderbird Vintage Pro in one week, I posted about it 1 mouth ago and I cannot wait to get my hands on that big monster, but recently I have a big problem with supports for the bass, where I live I am not allowed to make any holes in the walls so I will not be hanging it on the wall, but I dont know if a regular stand will hold it well since the base it not a regular Fender type, any idea of supports that hold it in a safe way, plus I was wondering if one of those for 5 (or any other number of basses) work fine.

I use Hercules stands. They come in single, double, or triple, and have a lock that engages on the top when the headstock hangs on it. A bit of extra security. They've lasted really well for me. They work for any body shape, having padded legs or standoffs like the others people have shown. TBirds, Flying Vs, most anything with the possible exception of the Cheap Trick Too Many Necks guitar.

I wanted to reach out real quick to let you know that after some digging I was able to get a clearer time frame on when to expect that Thunderbird for you. Looks like you were right - later this month is about when we should be getting it in.
