Thunderbird Club

If I had time, I would do that. I just got one of those passport cards that lets you (in theory) go to Canada and Mexico without having to take the full blown passport. Beats me why a full blown passport is necessary any more anywhere if you can have a credit card sized passport with bar codes and a chip and whatever else they put into those things these days.
A Nexus card. Very handy. However, if you fly, you are still required to carry a passport. Land or sea crossing, just a card. Makes no sense. I'm sure that there is a bureaucrat somewhere who managed to hire an additional employee as a result of that. Building an empire one more employee at a time...

That would require me playing.... I am suffering an anterior interosseous nerve palsy in my fretting hand (thumb and index finger not working properly). I haven't played in a couple of months. On the upside, I have a second surgical consult next week and with a little luck will be scheduling the surgery in the next month or two (I was referred by the first surgeon to the hand clinic).
If you're not satisfied with the level of skill in information at that second consult, may I suggest considering a visit to Kleinert-Kutz here in town. Pioneered many and related surgeries and procedures. Not exactly handy I know, but may be a good option if you run into dead ends with not good options. Hopefully you get Great information and a plan of action closer to home. But if you come to town, the watermelon is on me! This is Thunderbird related, because Thunderbirds need to be played even though they are works of art.

I appreciate the thought. Actually, the first surgeon is a very skilled plastic surgeon and he referred me to the hand clinic as he knows that they are better suited to the repair. The hand clinic to which I have been referred is one of the top hand clinics in N America - well published, very competitive residency.

I hope the surgery can remedy your situation!
Thank you Scott. I'll find out next week at the hand clinic!

Amusing aside - the diagnostic MRI was scheduled for end of next week (and would have put me on the schedule for a surgical consult after the radiologist provided an opinion). I used my connections to get everything sped up so that I am already looking for a surgical schedule. In socialized medicine, who you know counts an awful lot.

When I get hit by a bus in Canada, I'll be asking you for advice on picking doctors.

And, I hope it is completely successful.

Sounds good. I'm confident you've done your homework and wish you the best. But our renowned hand clinic is better than your renowned hand clinic! (We haven't had a good urinary expulsion contest around here for some time.)

Wait. That's exactly how it's not supposed to work from what we told/sold. Great job figuring out a way around other's "great" ideas!

So your friend gave you a hand. That's handy!

Quite possibly the better of the two. But these things lie on a sigmoidal distribution.

The difference between best and second best is small, just as the difference between worst and second worst is small. But, in the middle the differences are meaningful.

Thanks all. Nothing really need be said. I have confidence in the surgeons I am working with and believe that I will end up playing again soon.

Having said that, when I am back to playing it will cut into my melon picture search time...

Hoping for the best with your surgery!!

Funny, but I really enjoyed it when I read it and 1984 ( Brave New World too) in Senior Lit., I still have copies of all three. There are several somewhat dystopian structures around the Seattle area that in my imagination are from 1984, like this place, I drive by it every day going to work, I call it The Ministry of Love, if you've read the book, well.
FDC SeaTac

Pink Floyd, was a band that I never could like much despite it being rammed into my earholes by Seattle's FM stations, still does nothing for me.
