I’m kinda in the same boat. I have a Fender Super Reverb ‘65 reissue guitar amp I haven’t even turned on in about a decade. Should just sell it and clear up some space in the bass room.Right now, I'm unloading stuff....buying more will have to wait a bit longer
Just to jump in on the Gibson bird train… my 2011 Gibson is absolutely gorgeous. So much so that I’ve changed my mind on Vintage Sunburst. It is pretty light as well.

I measured the pickup spacing a while back in all the Thunderbirds I had at the time (7) - the three neck-through 'birds (CP, VP, Pro 5) were spaced the same. All of the bolt-ons were different from the neck-throughs, and from each other
Never measured a Gibson though....but I think it's the same as the CP/VP/Pro? But maybe not for all years?
Thanks for checking. They are likely the same and that makes sense. But when I look at them they seem different. May be the that there are no rings on the Gibson just giving that appearance.

I hope they get crazy high. That way I won't feel bad about how much my wife paid for my white oddball '76! This listing is making me feel better.
Some don't care for the sound, but to me they just sound something like a weaker version of the original or VPs. Low and more tame output, but with Roto 66s mine sounds great. Though they are sidewinders, it still clearly sounds like a Thunderbird.

I want someone to buy them before I do. I know myself and I'd buy them out of FOMO and then end up sitting on them and passing them on. If I really wanted the chrome or nickel look, I'd probably get Thunderbuckers. I just like black hardware. And I like the TB+.I told myself I wasn't going to look. But I did. Something to consider. Thanks Ken.
I think you should buy them. You did find them!
The all black took a while to get used to after seeing and being used to chrome for so long, but now I like the look and would really like to keep it that way if possible.
Doesn't have the BBs any longer, but it just looks great--bad pic and all.
I even find the silver-cap knobs out of place with the black hardware so I replaced them with all-black. I like them on yours because they blend well with the pickguard.

That's a pretty nice example, has is all of it's parts which only adds to the overall value. While I remember the '70s quite well since I graduated in '76, it's important to remember that bass is 44 years old now - I'm glad I own a couple, while the '60s stuff get a lot of (well deserved ) love, a '76 was my first Thunderbird and still my fave.
That Ashdown sounds great! I notice it keeps showing up at gigs!
I'll go with @dagrev , that rig sounds so good ! I like that band's line-up, can cover lots of ground.
