It is. Scott let's him do the sound checks.Hey, that looks like @godofthunder59 's bass tech!
Geddy told me to keep working, his parts aren't that difficult. Easy for him to say; he's not a hack like me.

It is so hard to believe those guys are only five years older than me. They hit it big so early. I was a high school junior when Fly By Night came out. Liked the music "but that Geddy chick has a weird voice." Of course soon got straightened out on that pretty quick. I've always admired his playing.Geddy Lee is 68 yo today. God bless the man. I wouldn't dare trying to play Rush songs, but his lines in Closer to the heart are a direct inspiration for me taking up the instrument.

Cool shot! I own a Gretsch bass as well (which I love, my oldest) but am not familiar with that model, reissue? What’s that model called?
Why did they make it? Because they worked really hard at it.It is so hard to believe those guys are only five years older than me. They hit it big so early. And rare as it is, you have it on the road with you. Cool. It’s a Gretsch Spectrasonic. Designed by TV Jones in the early 2000’s. As far as I know, only 100 were made in the US and another 100 in Japan. Mine is US 00068

I have toured with it a bunch, but van space is crazy limited on this run. Just the ‘02 Gibson TBird and my upright on this tour. The Gretsch is sweet though! Just seems like lately if I don’t play a TBird, I spend the whole night trying to make something else sound like a TBird![]()

Since we are not commenting on this great news, I will point out that there is a song about Kara: She'll have fun fun fun `til her daddy takes her T-bird away...

Chuck, I have chrome flats on my single pup BaCH (with original pup) and TI Jazz flats on my single pup Greco (with original pup). I’ll A/B them in about an hour and report back.observation from last night….don’t really know what stings the Greco has but because the setup is so comfortable I’ll leave them on there as long as they last….from the looks of it they are either RS66 or Boomers, steel rounds with red silks. they are also of a lighter gauge than standard…….the BaCH on the other hand has a set of standard Chromes (as much as I would like to dislike flats and ditch them all together, they sound WAY too good)……
Pup spacing is comparable for both…

this said, last night the BaCH was significantly louder than the Greco…..can the string type/gauge really make a 1/3 volume pot travel volume difference? OR, are the TBuckers that much hotter? we know the Greco pups scream… who knows….![]()

What’s really interesting is it looks like your pup to string gap on the BaCH is quite a bit more than the gap on the Greco. That would normally favor the Greco on loudness, but that’s not what you’re hearing. Interesting. And yes, I have noticed some strings are louder than others.
Just remembered, I have Boomers on my two pup Greco so I’ll include that in the A/B/C test. Not sure how it will all come out, report coming shortly.
